CTS Project One Musical Performance Daily Objects as Musical Instruments Meeting Journal 1st Meeting (9th April

l 2013) from 10am to 12pm

This is the first meeting for Wee Min, Vincent and I. Because we've just joined this group unit. Today, we decided to make our performance into Opera style. We've practiced the song Stand By Me. We've arranged the background and and the melody music. We also had thought of some instruments which are : DIY guitar, keys, Newspaper, Garments washing board, Shakers, Drum, Xylophone and balloons.

2nd Meeting (11th April 2013) from 1pm to 3pm

This would be my 2nd meeting, we've confirmed our song list and each of us had prepared our own story line and presented during this meeting. This is our Songs List: 1. Stand By Me 2. Marry you by Bruno Mars 3. Just the way you are by Bruno Mars 4. OMG by Usher 5. I knew you were trouble by Taylor Swift 6. Doremon theme song 7. Harlem Shake 8. Oppa Gangnam style We came out with the concept of Mickey and Minnie and also blend some romance in it. This is my storyline (before the concept) This story will take place at a cruise (just like Titanic). Scene 1, A boy and a girl met at a cruise and fell in love at first sight - Date Scene 2, Girl reveals that she had cancer - final stage - kept secret to prevent heartbreak. Scene 3, Boy found out the secret, got mad for awhile- but no matter what , he still loves the girl. Scene 4, One day, suddenly the cruise hit an iceberg, then sinks. Instead of seeing the girl suffering from cancer and left alone, both of them died by the accident together. And they live happily ever after in heaven. After we shared our stories, we came out of the idea of smashing up all of our idea into one story line.. So, our group's story Line developed and decided: Mickey met and fell in love immediately with Minnie when he first saw him. He serenade to Minnie ( a medley of Stand By Me, Marry you and Just the way you are)and he did won Minnie's heart. Then, they got married. One day, when Mickey is spending some time with Minnie, he found out that Minnie was actually a Hello Kitty! ( the song OMG plays)He ran as fast as he could while Hello Kitty was trying to kill & eat him. Hello Kitty caught up with Mickey and killed him. She ate his ear. Everyone thought Mickey has died, but he's still alive, actually Mickey turned out to be a Doraemon (a mouse without ears). Doraemon was too happy and excited that he throws all his tools in his pocket. Happy Ending! So, everyone dance Harlem Shake and Oppa Gangnam Style to celebrate the moment. We had also decided our casting. Peh Ker Neng as Mickey, Lee Jo Yee as Minnie, Wong Voon Yin as Hello Kitty, Chua as Doraemon, Hui Sim as Doremi, Wee Min as Daisy, Nicolas Wong as Donald Duck, Goh as Goofy We had also discussed about our title of our show which is "The Secret of Minnie"

3rd Meeting (17th April 2013) from 9am to 10am

Today, we discussed about our band name. Each one of us came out with our own band name, and we decide our final name by voting. Nicolas Wong suggested it to be called as Banana Archi band which means teamwork- banana (Vote:1) , Ker Neng suggested A team which inspired from a movie- teamwork- heroes (Vote: 1) Chua suggested T.R.I which stands for The Real Identity, because the true identity of the characters (mickey and minnie) in our storyline (Votes: 6) Goh suggested Loco Minnie which the word "LOCO" in another language means crazy( Vote: 1) Wee Min suggested Crazytoon which stands for crazy + cartoon(Votes :2) Voon Yin suggested Archi Century which inspired by 20th century (Votes:0) Jo Yee suggested The Imagineers (Votes:3) Then we discussed about our poster, each one of us also had prepared one. The Descriptions of our poster are mysterious, mask to cover the real identity like the show

Chua did a poster of two sides of Minnie Ker Neng did a poster of Minnie starring at a mirror and saw herself as a cat Nicolas did a happy band poster Goh did a poster of Minnie killing the shadows Wee Min did a poster of Minnie wiping her face revealing half of her true form Voon Yin did s poster of a movie and there's a huge Hello Kitty behind all the characters

6th Meeting (18th April 2013) from 10am to 3pm

Today, we got a new member - Hui Sim, character given is Doremi, Doraemon's sister. Then we had a poster selcting section by voting. Poster selecting: Wee Min: 7 Voon Yin:2 Jo Yee: 1 Ker Neng: 6 Goh: 0 Chua: 0 Nicolas:0 We will be combining Wee Min's and Ker Neng's poster. Jo Yee and I will be reproducing it. And then we finalize our musical instruments, Musical Instruments making: 1. Tri-Pringles beating box - Sim 2. Multi- Drum Kit - Nicolas 3. The Incredible Straw - Jo Yee 4. Shakers - Ker Neng 5. Guitar - Voon Yin 6. Wonder Gong - Chua 7.Keys - Wee Min 8.Serious Drum - Goh Then we went to the stage (at LT20), tested some of our . And it passed . After, we also disscussed to add another new song in the ending Gentlemen- PSY

7th Meeting (19th April 2013) from 9am to 4pm

Today, we did some research on our costumes and made some props. Research on costume: Lee Jo Yee as Minnie will be wearing Red Dress with white polka dots, White/Black Belt, Red Ribbon with white polka dots, Black Shoes, White Gloves, A Black Dot for nose, two big ears, tails Ker Neng as Mickey will be wearing black shirt, red pants with two yellow dots, white gloves, yellow slippers, two big ears, tails Chua as Doraemon will be wearing blue shirt and blue pants, white socks, White gloves , red tail, white pocket, bell Nicolas as Donald Duck will be wearing yellow lipsticks yellow leggings, white pants, blue hat, red ribbon,*light blue shirt Goh as Goofy will be wearing white gloves, black strips, green hat, orange shirt, brown socks, two long ears Sim as Doremi will be wearing red ears, yellow shirt, yellow pants, flower tail, white pocket with red strips, white socks, bell Wee Min as Daisy Duck will be wearing yellow lipsticks, purple shirt, white pants, yellow legging, purple socks, purple ribbon Voon Yin as Hello Kitty will be wearing white hat, white shirt, pink skirt, white legging, red shoes, red ribbon After the meeting we planned to go for a shopping.

8th Meeting (23nd April 2013) From 10am to 2pm

Today, we had some plan changes on the characters. Which Nicolas will be Mickey and Ker Neng will be Donald Duck. We had our practice and rehearsal on stage today.

9th Meeting (24rd April 2013) From 1pm to 2pm

We had our practice again. We went to LT 20 to test the lighting and also have a small rehearsal over there... We hand changes in our character again... Nicolas will be Minnie Mouse this time and Jo Yee will be Mickey. Since our performance is not complete yet.. We rated low for our performance so far.. We plan to improve more by arranging more instruments in it.

10th Meeting (25rd April 2013) From 10am to 2pm

We had our practice again.. We practiced singing parts from Stand By Me, Marry you ,Just the way you are ,OMG & I knew you were trouble. And tried our best to involve all our instruments for the whole performance. We also practiced some dance movements too.

11th Meeting (29thd April 2013) From 8am to 11pm , 4pm to 6pm
4 days more days until the actual performance. We realized that our singing parts are not that great. So we put our choreography away for a moment, and focus on our singing from the beginning till the end. We tried to arrange the instrument parts too. We also added a Chinese song into our song list -(Dui Mian de Nu Hai Kan Guo Lai) by (Richie Ren). Which now our Song list changed into: 1. Stand By Me 2. Marry you by Bruno Mars 3. Just the way you are by Bruno Mars 4. - Richie Ren 5. OMG by Usher 6. I knew you were trouble by Taylor Swift 7. Doremon theme song 8. Harlem Shake 9. Oppa Gangnam style Total 9 songs we are going to sing.

12th Meeting (30th April 2013)

3 days before performance. We practiced our song, and video our practice. This time, the song practice went quite well, so we planned a little drama for the front part. Then practiced. Role of Minnie and Doremi changed. Minnie's role will be Sim and Doremi's role will be Nicolas Wong.

13th Meeting (1st May 2013)

We went to shopping for our costume at the afternoon and persuade for our practice after that. We planned half of our drama and practiced the song. Role changed again. We thought that it's weird if both Mickey and Minnie are girl, instead of that, we changed Minnie to Ker Neng. Which girl will act as Mickey, and boy will act as Minnie. Now Sim will act as Donald Duck and Nicolas will be still staying as Doremi's character. And Nicolas will be the lead in the ending part (Oppa Gangnam Style)

14th &15th Meeting (2nd May 2013)

One day before the performance, we practiced and practiced until we are familiar with it. We've added a lot of moves and liven our performance.

16th Meeting (3rd May 2013) 12pm-2pm

We arranged our position of our stage, and had some last minute practices
