End Times Prophesies: Part 1, The Approach of the Minor Chastisement

To be honest, I don't usually read up very much on the subject of prophesy. Most of it either doesn't interest me, or holds my attention for just a fleeting few moments as I read an interesting one, and then travel onto something else. However, was told by a friend of mine about a book called Catholic Prophesy, by Yves Dupont. Its a compilation of many Catholic prophesies about the end times, and it held my attention the entire way. It's different than the other works that I've read because while Dupont offers some speculating opinions, he sticks mainly with the prophesies of saints over the past two millenia. To be fair, I skipped the prophesies of Nostradamus. I don't believe he's completely healthy for a Catholic to read. I will now lay out the entire book in one paragraph-a difficult thing to do indeed! But here goes. As I did myself just 30 days ago, many people confuse the Chastisement with the second coming. However, they are in fact two different periods separated by about 20-30 years. In short, the first to come is the Chastisement-also known as the Minor Chastisement, as opposed to the "Major Chastisement" during the reign of the Anti-Christ. This is a 3-4 year period of wars for Asia and Europe and revolutions all over the world. There are many prophesies that speak about the good being martyred in droves, and a great war in Europe which will be kick started by a great French revolution. Muslims, Leftists and Communists (the bad) will make up one side, and the other will be composed of European natives, Catholics, and non-Communists (the good). When the bad side is on the brink of victory, a great Catholic monarch from the good side will start winning battles with a small battalion in western Europe, and will miraculously drive the bad side back to the Holy Land, where they will convert. Around this time will be the infamous 3 Days of Darkness in which approximately of humanity dies. Also around this time, Peter and Paul will come down to earth and indicate the great pope that is to be elected. He will be one of the holiest ever. Together, the Catholic monarch and holy pope will complement each other as the secular and spiritual directors over the world. After the Chastisement, the ones left will be Catholics, people going to convert to the Catholic faith, and even a few people of bad will. After this comes a period of Catholicism and peace greater than has ever been. This will last for about 20-30 years. The next period is officially called the End of Time, or the Major Chastisement where the official Anti-Christ will come and will deceive many. The good will be martyred, and there will be another period of great persecution as the early Church experienced. However, the Anti-Christ will be killed (some say by Michael the Archangel himself), and Jesus will come down a 2nd time shortly after. Thus ends the world. The above is a short summary of my readings from the book, as well as a great deal of other research. Please note however that all (except a few) of these are from prophesies, and being private revelations, should be taken with a grain of salt. I've written a more detailed dissertation on the Chastisements that include the prophesies themselves, and their interpretations in parts 2 and 3. Below I will lay out an argument why I believe the Minor Chastisement written about above could happen within the next 10 years. 1. In 1689, Our Lord appeared to St Mary Margaret Alacoque at Rianjo, Spain telling her to tell the king of France to devote his country to the Sacred Heart. The king and his successors failed to do this, and on 1789 (the 100 year anniversary-both events happened on June 17 th), the French Revolution took place, and the monarchy was killed. Paralleling this to Fatima (the Blessed Virgin calling for the pope to consecrate Russia in 1917), what will happen on 2017? Russia has not been consecrated. But the 100 year coincidence for France isnt the only reason. As Sr. Lucia wrote herself, My confessor ordered me to inform Your Excellency about what happened a little while ago, between our Good God and myself: As I was asking God for the conversion of Russia, Spain and Portugal, it seemed that His Divine Majesty said to me: You console Me a great deal in asking Me for the conversion of those poor nations: Request it also of My Mother, while saying to Her often: Sweet Heart of Mary, be the salvation of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe and the whole world. At other times say: By Thy Pure and Immaculate Conception, O Mary, obtain for me the conversion of Russia, Spain,

Portugal, Europe and the whole world. Make it known to My ministers, given that they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My command, they will follow him into misfortune. It is never too late to have recourse to Jesus and Mary. 2. St. John Bosco's prophesy: "The power of the Lord is in His hands. He scatters His enemies as a cloud. The Venerable Old Man attires himself in all his ancient raiment. There will come a violent hurricane. Iniquity is consummated. Sin will have its end. And before two full moons of the month of flowers will have run their course the rainbow of peace will rise above the earth. The Great Minister will see the bride of his King arrayed in festive fashion. As one Catholic wrote to me about the above quoted prophesy, It is a very rare thing to have a blue moon in May. The next time this happens is May 31, 2026. So the Chastisement must be done by that time (again, assuming the prophecy is accurate) and the period of peace ongoing/started. So an upper limit, from this prophecy, for the Chastisement's beginning, is 2022 (as it lasts 4 years, according to other prophecies). And again, that's an upper limit. It could be earlier, but not later, if it's true. 3. Malachy, a famous Irish saint born in 1094, had his famous Prophesy of the Popes. It lists 112 phrases assigned to the future 112 popes that have something to do with each of them. For example, Sixtus Vs (1585-1590) phrase is Axle in the midst of a sign. His coat of arms is an axle in the middle of a lion. Its all very interesting however, until one wonders what number the next pope will be. As for the anti-popes, he included them as well, and even called some of them schismatics (Nicholas V and Clement VIII). Today, we are on number 111. Glory of the Olive is the phrase. Benedict XVI chose the name after St. Benedict, whose orders crest is an olive branch. In addition, the Benedictine Order is also known as the " Olivetans". But back to the total number of popes-there are 112 in the prophesy, and Benedict XVI is be number 111. Following this logic, there must be one more pope after Benedict XVI. The description for 112 is a bit longer than a phrase-its more of a paragraph. It reads Peter the Roman, who will nourish the sheep in many tribulations; when they are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The end. The seven hills is obviously Rome, which from other prophesies is supposed to get destroyed at the end of time. Assuming this prophesy is true, the next pope after Benedict XVI will be the last. 4. The prophesy of St. John of the Cleft Rock in the 14th century states It is said that twenty centuries after the Incarnation of the Word, the Beast in its turn shall become man. About the year 2,000 A.D., Antichrist will reveal itself to the world. 5. The prophesy of Sister Bouquillion in the 19th Century says The beginning of the end shall not come in the 19th century, but in the 20th for sure. Could she be referring to Vatican II or the heretical popes? Either way, there can not be much time left if the beginning of the end is in the 1900s. Those 5 points are perhaps the brunt of why I believe the Chastisement is just around the corner. Again, if it doesnt happen for another 100 years, thats fine too, as they are just private revelations. But I believe a good willed Catholic will lend some credence to them. Now there are four smaller but peculiar idiosyncrasies that I'd like to point out. One is the fact of the "17s". Protestantism was founded in 1517, Freemasonry in 1717, Communist Russia in 1917. I dont suppose that proves anything, but its an interesting fact that parallels the 2017 theory of point #1 above. Secondly, I have not found any prophesy that mentions the 21st century or beyond. This is curious, and makes me wonder if the end of the world is truly just around the corner. Only time will tell. The other two points are prophesies. Jeanne le Royer, who lived in the 1700s wrote "One day I found myself in a vast plain alone with God. Jesus appeared to me and from the top of a small hill showing me a beautiful sun in the horizon. He said dolefully: the world is passing away and the time of my coming draws near. When the sun is about to set one knows that the day is nearly over and that night will soon fall. Centuries are like days for me. Look at this sun; see how much it still has to travel and estimate the time that is left in the world. I looked intently and it seemed to me that the sun would set in about 2 hours. Jesus said Do not forget that those are not millenaries but only centuries and they are few in number But I understood that Jesus reserved to Himself the knowledge of the exact number and I did not wish to ask him more."

The last is Countess Francesca de Billiante, who died in just 1935 said "I see yellow warriors and red warriors marching against Europe. Europe will be completely covered with a yellow fog that will kill the cattle in the fields. Those nations which have rebelled against the law of Christ will perish by fire. Europe will then be too large for them who survive. May the Lord grant to my grand-children the grace of persevering in the true Faith." Though all four of these complement the above five, I don't believe they are anything special taken by themselves.

End Times Prophesies: Part 2, The Minor Chastisement In this part 2, I'd like to write about the Chastisement itself. There will be a main, great war in Europe with revolutions and natural disasters all over the world. Again, the quotes are from either prophesies or interpretations of prophesies. The main war in the world will not necessarily be between Catholics and non-Catholics, but Muslims, Leftists and Communists against Catholics, European natives, and non-Communists. Pere Nechtou from the 1700s wrote "When those things come to pass which will bring on the triumph of the Church, then such confusion will reign on earth that people will think God has permitted them to have their own contrary will and that the provenance of God is not concerned about the world. The confusion will be so general that mankind will not be able to think aright, as if God had entirely withheld his providence from mankind, and that, during the worst crisis, the best that can be done would be to remain where God has placed us, and persevere in fervent prayer. Two parties will be formed in France which shall fight unto death. The party of evil will at first be stronger; the good side shall be weaker. At that time there shall be such a terrible crisis that people, frightened by events, shall believe that the end of the world has come. Blood shall flow in several large cities. The very elements shall be convulsed. It will be like a little general judgment. A great multitude of persons shall perish in these calamitous times. But the wicked shall never prevail. They indeed shall conspire for the destruction of the Church, but time shall not be allowed them, because this frightful crisis shall be of short duration. When all will be considered lost, all will be found safe. During this revolution, which shall very likely be general, and not confined to France, Paris shall be destroyed so completely that, twenty years afterwards, fathers will promenade their children over the ruins, and they will ask what place that was; to satisfy their questions, they will tell them: My child, here was a great city; God destroyed it, because of its crimes. Paris shall certainly be destroyed, but before this occurs, such signs and portents shall be observed, that all good people will be induced to fly away from it. After this most terrible event, everything shall return to order; justice shall reign in the world, and the counter-revolution shall be accomplished. The triumph of the Church will then be so complete that nothing like it shall ever be seen, for this will be the last victory of the Church upon earth. Those persons who shall behold this last revolution will thank God for having preserved them to witness this glorious triumph of the Church. A man disliked by France will be placed on the throne; a man of the house of Orleans will be made king [The great French monarch]. It is only after this event that the counter-revolution shall begin." There are many others about the war, but for brevitys sake, this sums it all up pretty well. Other prophesies mention distinctly how impossible it will be for the good side to win, and how the bad side will have almost total victory. However, the great king will start the resistance with a small band against the huge force, and victory after victory drive them back to the Holy Land, where many will convert. It should be noted as well, that a terrible yet decisive battle will take place in Westphalia in Germany where most soldiers there will perish. This war is supposed to be the biggest battle in history. The good will win by a hair, and it will be a great turning point in the war. As for the Americas, India and Africa, I have not read any detailed prophesies other than there will be revolutions and natural disasters. I realize I have not given prophesies for many of these, but to post them all would be too monstrous for a post. About the "3 Days of Darkness" mentioned above, its a certain punishment thats on par with Noahs Flood. Its intent is to wipe the world clean of those who will not convert, with a few exceptions.

Blessed Anna-Maria Taigi (19th century) "God will send two punishments: one will be in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils; it shall originate on earth. The other will be sent from Heaven. There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles. During this alarm, the faithful should stay in their houses and recite the Rosary and beg God for Mercy. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot." Jesus said similar things to Padre Pio on February 7th, 1950. "This catastrophe shall come upon the earth like a flash of lightning! At which moment the light of the morning sun shall be replaced by black darkness! No one shall leave the house or look out a window from that moment on. I Myself shall come amidst thunder and lightning. The wicked shall behold My Divine Heart. There shall be great confusion because of this utter darkness in which the entire earth shall be enveloped, and many, many shall die from fear and despair. On that day, as soon as complete darkness has set in, no one shall leave the house or look from out of the window. The darkness shall last a day and a night followed by another day and night, and another day, but on the night following, the stars will shine again, and on the next morning the sun shall rise again, and it will be springtime! In the days of darkness, My elect shall not sleep, as did the disciples in the Garden of Olives. They shall pray incessantly, and they shall not be disappointed in Me. I shall gather My elect. Hell will believe itself to be in possession of the entire earth, but I shall reclaim it." Though this will purge the wicked from the earth, there is still more to suffer for a short time. Marie de la Faudais in the 1800s says "the earth will be turned into a huge graveyard. The bodies of the wicked and of the righteous will cover the face of the earth. The famine that follows will be severe. All plant-life will be destroyed as well as 3/4ths of the human race. This crisis will be sudden and the punishment will be world-wide." After the 3 days, Blessed Anna-Maria Taigi goes on to say again "After the three days of darkness, St. Peter and St. Paul, having come down from Heaven, will preach in the whole world and designate a new Pope. A great light will flash from their bodies and will settle upon the cardinal who is to become Pope. Christianity, then, will spread throughout the world. He is the Holy Pontiff, chosen by God to withstand the storm. At the end, he will have the gift of miracles, and his name shall be praised over the whole earth. Whole nations will come back to the Church and the face of the earth will be renewed. Russia, England, and China will come into the Church." So after these 3-4 years of the Chastisement, there will be about 20-30 years of peace and prosperity in the world. We get these time periods from prophesies such as Werdin D'Otrante (13th century) "The nations will be at war for 4 years and a great part of the world will be destroyed" , and as Sr. Mechtilde of Helfta in the 13th century said "They will perform their mission in peace for 30 years, then Antichrist will come...25 years of good crops will be sufficient for them [the people] to forget." One of the greatest church councils will take place, and everyone will be Catholic or convert (with a few exceptions). The pope and monarch will rule the world under the spiritual and political arm, respectively. The physical and spiritual graces that God through Mary gives the world during these years will be astounding. This is a very brief summary with the main points that Ive read. Also, I should mention again that dont believe any of this 100% (apart from the official church teaching) as its private revelation, however I do think there is good reason for its belief.

End Times Prophesies: Part 3, The Period of Peace and Major Chastisement With this 3rd and final post, I will lay out the prophesies for the Period of Peace, and the Anti-Christ ushering in the Major Chastisement and Last Judgement. After the Chastisement written about in part 2, there will be about 20-30 years of peace and prosperity in the world. One of the greatest church councils will take place, and everybody (or just about) will be Catholic. But reminiscent of the Jews in the Old Testament, the people will turn against God again-only

after 30 years. My contention is that the people who turn will be caught up in the prosperity and good living, and it will mostly be the newer generation who didnt experience the Chastisement. In addition, since there will be so many Catholics, the birth rate will immediately skyrocket after the war. This will cause a vast discrepancy between the fewer older people who experienced the Chastisement and more numerous younger people who did not. In any case, this is when the Anti-Christ presents himself. He will have the appearance of miracles, and will lead many astray. Enoch and Elias themselves (the Church says they never died) will help the faithful. Towards this time, the Faithful will be martyred again, and the 2nd coming will take place. The interpretation of a prophesy by Venerable Bartholomew Holzhauser in the 1600s just about sums this period up. "But, by the Hand of God Almighty, there occurs so wondrous a change during the sixth period that no one can humanly visualize it. The powerful Monarch, who will be sent by God, will uproot every republic. He will submit everything to his authority, and he will show great zeal for the true Church of Christ. The empire of the Mohammedans will be broken up, and this Monarch will reign in the East as well as in the West. All nations will come to worship God in the true Catholic and Roman faith. There will be many Saints and Doctors (of the Church) on earth. Peace will reign over the whole earth because God will bind Satan for a number of years until the days of the Son of Perdition. No one will be able to pervert the word of God since, during the sixth period, there will be an ecumenic council which will be the greatest of all councils. By the grace of God, by the power of the Great Monarch, by the authority of the Holy Pontiff, and by the union of all the most devout princes, atheism and every heresy will be banished from the earth. The Council will define the true sense of Holy Scripture, and this will be believed and accepted by everyone." As John of the Cleft Rock describes, "But God will raise a holy Pope, and the Angels will rejoice. Enlightened by God, this man will rebuild almost the whole world through his holiness. He will lead everyone to the true Faith. Everywhere, the fear of God, virtue, and good morals will prevail. He will lead all erring sheep back to the fold, and there shall be one faith, one law, one rule of life, and one baptism on earth. All men will love each other and do good, and all quarrels and wars will cease." But as written above, this era of peace will not last forever. After the monarch dies, the Anti-Christ will come to power. To my knowledge, the next two are interpretations of prophesies. Adso the Monk in the tenth century has this to say about the Anti-Christ. "Antichrist will be born of Jewish parents, of the tribe of Dan, but his mother will not be a virgin, as many believe. As the Holy Ghost came into the heart of Mary, so will the devil enter into the mother of Antichrist, and his diabolical power will always support him. Babylon will be his birthplace, but he will be reared and instructed in Bethsaida and Corozain. After his education at the hands of malignant spirits he will go to Jerusalem and place his seat in the Temple which he will have restored. He will submit to the rite of circumcision, claiming that he is the Son of the Omnipotent God. His first converts will be kings and princes. His influence will extend from sea to sea, largely through force and persuasive eloquence. He will perform many signs and great miracles. Those who believe in him will be marked on the forehead with a sign. For three and a half years he will hold sway and, at the end of that period, he will put to death Henoch and Elias, who will have previously opposed him by preaching the true faith. Shortly afterwards, Christ will appear, and Antichrist will be killed by Michael the Archangel." Although this next writing is curiously specific, the important things to take away from it are the general events, which many are in other prophesies as well. Richard Rolle of Hampole in the 14th Century wrote, "The greatest opposition to Antichrist will come from the preaching of Henoch and Elias whom he will destroy after 1260 days. They will rise again after three and one half days. The first fifteen days will be a reign of terror. At the age of thirty-two and one-half years he will be slain on Mt. Olivet, probably by St. Michael. The jubilation of his followers will be suddenly cut short by a general slaughter. Forty-five days for repentance will intervene before the Last Judgment. After the destruction of Rome, Antichrist will appear and exalt himself above pagan deities and the Trinity. His name signifies one who

is against Christ. Begotten, of a sinful man and of a woman into whom the devil has entered, Antichrist will be born of the tribe of Dan in the city of Corozain. The good angel assigned to him at his birth will be obliged to leave him as witches, necromancers and other disreputable characters take charge of his education in Bethsaida. Coming to Jerusalem, he will proclaim himself Christ and at first feign to be holy. He will succeed through false preaching, miracles, gifts, terror, aided throughout by the devil. An evil spirit will come out of the air and descend upon his followers. He shall feign a resurrection from the dead, cause rain to fall, stone images to speak, and perform other wonders, all through the power of the devil. The recalling of the dead to life will be only apparent; devils entering the dead bodies will cause the illusion. Antichrist will be the greatest tyrant of all time. His adherents will be marked with his sign. Devils shall be let loose from hell. The Jews will welcome him." I realize that the previous two prophesies contradict in saying that the Anti-Christ will be born in Corozain, and Babylon. This however, doesn't present a big problem. The major events are the most important, and parallel every other Church-approved prophesy written about the subject. In any case, after all of this happens Christ will come down for the Second Judgement. The good will ascend straight to Heaven, and wicked will plummet down into hell. Thus the world ends, and the state of souls will be fixed for all eternity. I know this "End Times Prophesies" series might be hard for many to swallow, but before making up your mind do a some research and ask yourself a few questions. Do these add up to the other prophesies? Have the previous accepted Catholic prophesies on other subjects come true? In any case, I hope you've at least enjoyed reading. God Bless you!
