Workshop on Data Analysis using IBM SPSS in Social Science Research

Indian Council of Social Science Research, Southern Regional Centre, Osmania University, Hyderabad is organising a three day Capacity Building Workshop on Data Analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics software in Social Science Research. This programme is being organised at Central Facilities for Research and Development (CFRD), Osmania University, Hyderabad from 21st March to 23rd March 2013. This Capacity Building programme is exclusively designed for Researchers and Teachers in the Broad area of Social Sciences. About the Workshop The workshop will provide training on data analysis using the IBM SPSS statistics software. The participants will also be given the conceptual understanding of the different statistical techniques used in the statistical analysis of the data. The workshop will help participants in structuring the data, help them understand the data entry and data cleansing processes, and develop skills and competencies in analysing the data by selecting appropriate statistical techniques using the SPSS software. Objectives of the programme To widen the understanding of basic concepts of statistics used in social science research To develop competency in proper selection of statistical techniques while analysing the data in social sciences research To develop competency in the use of SPSS for data analysis and develop skills in proper interpretation of the output of SPSS software

Who is eligible for this programme? Faculty members / Researchers who are presently pursuing M.Phil/ Ph.D in Social Sciences, Commerce, Education and Management in any UGC recognised University or Institution are Eligible to apply for this programme. M.Phil/Ph.D research scholars who have completed their course work and course work examination and have collected the data for their research work, and are in the stage of data analysis would be preferred for this programme.
