Better for you Fewer PCBs Same Omega-3s Uses methods that directly destroy ecosystems, but causes little pollution Trawling effectivly removes most or all sea creatures and can turn even a coral reef into mud At best leaves environment suitable only to shrimp, at worst nothing can live However, they cause almost no pollution. Still have high levels of Omega3s, but have much lower levels of PCBs

Better for the environment Doesnt catch and kill non-target animals Doesnt use destructive fishing methods like dynamite fishing and trawling Does cause some pollution but doesnt directly destroy ecosystems Have more Omega-3s, but also have more PCB A study publish in the Jan. 9, 2004 edition of science that used 700 samples found that, ... the PCB concentrations in farm-raised salmon were, on average, almost eight times higher than the concentrations in wild salmon (36.63 parts per billion vs. 4.75). Can be energy inefficient To create 1 kg (2.2 lbs.) of high-protein fishmeal, which is fed to farmed fish, it takes 4.5 kg (10 lbs.) of smaller pelagic, or open-ocean, fish.
