Overview of the years ICT syllabus; overview of the schools computer system; checking everyone can logon; organizing your ICT work - creating a filing system; health & safety points. Review Windows Explorer; icons, shortcuts; personal and shared folders; file and folder management; using USB drives; transferring files to/from school/home; review sending and receiving email, including attachments; using Help and finding things out. Learning the basics of computer programming with Scratch Creating animations with movement and sounds More advanced features of Scratch Review earlier skills, including spell checker, bullets, numbering, indents, etc. Further formatting: headers, footers, page numbering, page breaks, etc. Introduction to Google Sketchup; basics of design; viewing tutorials; downloading models More tutorials; designing your own room or home or vehicle or anything! Completing your models Introduction to computer-based modelling and simulations; trying some simulations; consider advantages and disadvantages Spreadsheet-based modelling; use a spreadsheet-based model to make predictions.
