INTRODUCTION

Based on the feedback collected from the inhabitants of the above slum areas, the chronic problem they had been facing , has now been mitigated to the maximum extent. New drainage outlets have been constructed in all these slum areas and now the system works well without any complaints The following slums are excellent examples

1 keni Cheri Existing problem ; Current status ; drainage overflow New drainage systems under construction

2 VIP COLONY BHIMA PALLI EAST Existing problem Current status ; uncontrollable drainage outflow ; 1. new drainage system implemented using D R packing 2 A new pathway is also under construction to create a new facelift to the chronic slum area

3 PARACKAL KUNNU CHERI Existing problem ; Current status ; No manhole 1 New two manhole constructed and finished 2 A new pathway is also under Construction as part of refurbishing the topography of the slum

4 Biogas plant at SMV school Existing problem ; Current status ; solid waste dumbing 25 m3 ecofriendly biogas plant Already completed

All the above mentioned works have been executed strictly in tune with the best environment safeguards

Current bottle necks in the execution of CIF works 1 hardship to pedestrians 2 noise and sound pollution during night work 3 hardship and blockades caused to the slum dwellers owing to the construction activities 4 soil erosion owing to cracks in the wall 5 untimely execution of works 6 Not abiding the deadline in executing the works

The above bottlenecks still persist in spite of our vigorous efforts to finish the project in time

PUPLIC CONSULTATION AT STP

Introduction On gathering the feedback form the labours of STP site, the following issues have been grabbed our attention Environmental issues 1 safety norms seldom followed by the Contractors 2 atmospheric pollution control measures Should be managed, preferably in alternate Days 3 protective shields like mask, glosses, jackets etc are not using by the labours New facilities 1 pure drinking water facility is now being Installed, by replacing the old ground Water system

2 sanitation facilities like toilet bathroom Have been set up and subjected to Cleansing drive on a monthly basis 3 health camps are being organized on every month to create awareness

The above bottlenecks still persist in spite of our vigorous efforts to finish the project in time
