CONTINUOUS WRITING: Description on a Person Describe your idol. An idol can be defined as a person who is greatly admired.

. Usually, people will make an idol out of their favourite celebrities such as a famous singer or dancer. I too have an idol of my own. My idol is also a much celebrated personality both locally and globally. He is none other than the versatile Dato Tony Fernandez of Air Asia. Here I would like to enumerate on some of his golden qualities that have managed to elevate him into the status of being the peoples idol. Tony Fernandez is a man of great courage. A risk taker that is what he is. Before making a leap into the airline industry, he already had both a high paying job and a high-flying lifestyle. Then, while watching an advertisement on an airline company one day, it struck him out of the blue that this is what he wanted to do run an airline. Everyone thought he had gone nuts. His own wife laughed at him when he told her his plan. But did that daunt him? No! He bought Air Asia for RM1 and incurred an instant debt of RM40 million. But fearlessly he went on to lead the heavily indebted airline until it became the worlds best budget airline. Not many people have the nerve to do what he did and that alone makes him a hero worthy of thousands of praises. A man with nerves alone cannot achieve much if he is lacking in the brain department. Therefore, Tony Fernandezs success could also be attributed to his intelligence. It is an irrefutable fact that he is a highly intelligent person. Otherwise, it would have been very unlikely for him to actually pay off a debt of RM40 million and break through even in a years time. He started the concept of low-cost airline fares in our country and he also introduced unheard things such as giving free airline tickets from time to time. People were excited and they started flying his airline which very soon proved to be an appropriate choice for them. Most people, when they have tasted the sweet smell of success, they tend to forget themselves by casting off their old personalities. But not the Chief Executive Officer of our beloved Air Asia. He retains till today his very down-to-earth personality and that only makes people respect him even more. It is a rare occasion indeed to see him dressed up in formal attire. He goes almost everywhere in a T-shirt, pants, cap and a jacket. The matter of his dressing choices is only an example of his humbleness. He is a man who mingles around with people from of all walks of life and through what I have heard or read about him, I know he amazes them by his courtesy and attitude. I know I might be raving about him but I am hoping to see him face-to-face one day. I learn from him never to settle less than the stars. After all, if he had given up in his attempt to reach for the stars, so many of us would never have flown through the skies. Thanks to him and his dream, now everyone can fly! 544 words

CONTINUOUS WRITING: Description of a Scene - A Road Accident

Road accidents are reported in newspaper and on television every day. There are more frequently caused by reckless drivers rather than faulty vehicles. Last Saturday, while I was travelling from Ipoh, I witnessed a serious accident. The scene of the accidents was vivid in my mind. A motorcyclist was following behind was taxi very closely. He was so impatient that he was trying to overtake my taxi even near a sharp bend. At that critical moment, there was an oncoming car. The taxi driver swerved to the roadside and I got a terrible jolt. It was too late for the motorcyclist to avoid the car. His motorcycle ran against the bumper of the car and smashed its windscreen. The motorcyclist somersaulted over the car and was found lying in a pool of blood. It was a scene to chill the flesh! The car driver, who was cut by the flying glass, was in a state of shock. All that happened in split second and fear overwhelmed us. The taxi driver stopped his taxi and I quickly ran to the nearest to the nearest telephone booth to inform the police and the hospital. From a distance I could see some people trying to help the injured motorcyclist and the car driver. They carried them into one of the onlookers car and sent them to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile the taxi driver tried to control and directs the traffic. Soon the police arrived and they promptly took some measurements and evidence. After that they moved the damaged car and the motorcycle to the roadside to ease the traffic congestion. They also took down the evidence provided by witnesses and onlookers. Some sweepers were clearing the debris and the blood stains on the road. When the taxi finally continued the journey, I silently thanked God for my narrow escape. I learned a good lesson that impatience and recklessness would bring harm and danger. I was happy to see that Malaysians are public-spirited and they render help to others readily. Since then I remember and follow the saying more haste less speed and prevention is better than cure. I believe good road manners and roads safety campaigns can help to reduce the number of road accidents which cause injuries, loss and lives and properties. 381 words
