Black Dog Animal Rescue -- Cheyenne, WY Contact: 307-214-6600 or bdar@bdar.org VEDA. Brains and beauty, this girl has it all! Veda is a beautiful
puppy who is super smart. She knows several basic commands and is house trained. This girl is eager to please. Veda gets along with dogs and cats and does well in a crate but does not always need one. She has been trusted to free roam her house in the past. Veda is a rough and tumble girl, and can definitely handle herself with the bigger dogs. At about 40 pounds, Veda is the perfect size, not too big and not too small.

Time is of the essence for helping the dogs featured in the e-WOOF newsletters. Please contact the name/numbers for each dog before contacting eWOOF. In most cases, time is limited for the dogs featured in our newsletters--with that in mind, we try to get the word out to as many contacts as we can using this publication. Work on behalf of the animals for finding them homes and/ or rescues comes from many, many sources and is an ONGOING effort dealt with a sense of urgency. In some cases there may be times when a sudden adoption and/or rescue comes through at the exact time our newsletter is issued. This is an unforeseen circumstance on our part--while we certainly understand the crossover may cause frustrations for you as the prospective adopter of an animal we hope you join us in rejoicing for an animal being saved. We appreciate and thank you for your continued support FOR THE

PLEASE NOTE:

CHEWY. Beautiful Chewy is a young and playful dog. Fun loving and great with kids, hed make a great family companion. Chewy has had a long stay with BDAR because he came to us nearly bald and suffering from advanced demodex mange. He was taken to the local shelter in this condition and had open oozing sores all over when he came to us. Fast forward 5 months, and he is the shining, healthy boy you see here! Demodex mange is not contagious to other healthy pets and most dogs who recover from it never have issues again. But it is possible hell have occasional flare-ups with spotty hair loss in the future. The treatment for the mange is inexpensive and likely requires only one trip to the doctor to take care of it. PEPPER is about 2 years old. She is very attentive, smart, and a quick learner. Going on walks is her favorite, although she is learning not to pull on the leash. She is house and crate trained. She knows her name well and is a very good listener. Pepper gets along with other dogs just fine. She should be introduced to strangers slowly since she can be protective. She is a very sweet loving girl who would be great for any family! ____________ Cheyenne Animal Shelter Contact: 307-632-6655 or foster@cheyenneanimalshelter.org TIPSY is an 8-month old, male Shepherd mix. He is young, full of energy, and needs lots of exercise. He will need some basic training for manners. NIKE is a female, 2 year old Akita/American Bulldog mix. She is sweet and very active. She likes to vocalize how she is feeling. Nike has been here before in 2011 as a stray and her owners reclaimed her, but this time when she was taken in as a stray the owners neglected to claim her and she has been here for a while waiting to be adopted. Can you giver her a home? RAJA

Rainbow Rescues -- Casper WY. Contact: Stephen at 307-265-3142 or rainbowrescues@outlook.com COCOA has been with one family since she was a puppy; now needs a more active home. She is 3 years old, well behaved, no health difficulties, and spayed. Cocoa is an excellent partner in an energetic, affectionate home. She weighs 70 pounds, comes from hunting parents, and could be registered if desired. Cocoa is good with children -- may be too playful with smaller ones. Good opportunity for a mature yet youthful companion. ____________

REFINED BRITTANY GENTLEMEN IN NEED OF LOVING LONG-TERM FOSTER HOME

NATIONAL BRITTANY RESCUE AND ADOPTION NETWORK (NBRAN) (http://nbran.org)
These sweet guys are Colby and Ethan, a father-son team of handsome Brittanys whose life-long owner passed away. Colby is Ethans dad, and they have never been separated. Colby and Ethan are in a great foster home but they must move by June 1 due to prior plans of their foster family. While these two boys would love a forever home, NBRAN is currently only seeking a long-term foster home due to Ethans recently diagnosed cancer. These two are very bonded and will only be fostered as a pair. They need a secure fence to keep them safely (they are Brits, and will follow their noses!). They love their daily walks, and have impeccable house manners.

TRANSPORTERS NEEDED...If you can help drive a dog to safety, please join our transporters list. For more information on volunteering please e-mail to ewoof@wyoming.com We welcome volunteers from all states.

Colby is 12, orange and white, and is a lover. He stays right beside you when playing outside, but is curious about what is on counters or in the trash. Colby has epilepsy, but his condition is controlled with phenobarbital, a low-cost medicine. As a senior, he also has a touch of arthritis, controlled by pain meds. Colby will sometimes just throw his head back and howl when he is happy; it is quite the fun thing to see! This behavior shows what a happy boy he is!

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED! If there is a dog featured in this newsletter that you want to foster, PLEASE CONTACT US! Many dogs just need a temporary place to go to be safe. E-MAIL US AT:

Ethan is 10, liver and white. He loves his stuffed squirrel toy, and is content to lie on his bed and play with it. Ethan is quiet, and has no bad habits. He obviously loves his daddy and follows him everywhere. Both boys are housebroken, neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and good with other dogs. Unfortunately Ethan has been diagnosed with pulmonary carcinoma and is given 2-8 months to live. He has recently started on prednisone and is feeling quite well. NBRAN will, of course, cover all needed medical expenses but is treating Ethan as though he is in hospice care. NBRAN prefers to keep these pups in the Rocky Mountain region to avoid the stress of a long transport. They are currently in north-central WY. 206-524-3066 wanbran@comcast.net 206-524-3066 wanbran@comcast.net 206-524-3066 wanbran@comcast.net 206-524-3066 wanbran@comcast.net 206-524-3066 wanbran@comcast.net 206-524-3066 wanbran@comcast.net 206-524-3066 wanbran@comcast.net 206-524-3066 wanbran@comcast.net 206-524-3066 wanbran@comcast.net

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness, and betrayal. And I was angry. God, I said, this is terrible! Why dont you do something? God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly, I have done something, he replied. I created you.

Editors Comment: We live in a sick and out of balance society. Since Michael Vick is once again being allowed to play football, and being paid mega bucks to do so, the public worships him like a hero and has forgiven him his sins because we are a shallow society with short memories and love to idolize celebrity-types. Luckily, living in this society is a small group of animal lovers and advocates who never forget, who can see people for who they really are, and will always remind the others what really happened...it should never be forgotten.
