God has blessed Cedar Church with a small army of loving, committed workers who have impacted kids, teens and adults for Christ through our Christian Education ministry all year long! We thank God every time we remember you in our prayers! New Sermon Series Next Sunday evening, our pastoral intern, Micah Shin, will begin a new 7 week PM sermon series on 1st John called Love Illuminated. Please make sure to attend. You wont want to miss it! Thank You to Our Veterans - On this Memorial Day weekend, Cedar church would like to express our deep appreciation for those members in our congregation and relatives of our members who have served or our currently serving our country in the armed services. ANNOUNCEMENTS Deacon Thank You Note - The Deacons of Cedar OPC wish to thank Pastor Ken Smith for making time in his busy schedule to train us in diaconal responsibilities. We appreciate his wisdom about coming along side of people in need in the right not the wrong way. Cedar Youth Group Can Collection - The youth group is collecting pop cans to help fund their mission trip. If you want to donate any cans you can bring them to church and deposit them in the bins outside the front doors. Thank you for your support of our many ministries - Love INC is in need of the following items to complete more Foster Care Kits: T-Shirts (youth size 5 and larger used for sleep shirts), nightlights, shampoo, combs and brushes, deodorant (especially mens), baby bottles. Lifewalk 2013 - Saving the unborn. Supporting their mothers. One step at a time. Join us on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at one of our four locations for a morning walk! It is a fun way to raise funds that support the lifesaving work of the Pregnancy Resource Center. The walk is about two miles at all four sites. For more information visit their website at prcforlife.org where you can also download a pledge form. Post Office Food Drive - Love INC thanks all of you who donated food through the Hudsonville and Jenison Post Office food drives on Saturday, May 11. Your donations will be used to help supply food for many in our community that are in need through our network of seven local church food pantries. Fun, One Time Volunteer Opportunity - Jehovah Jireh Ministries is still in need of a few volunteers for Kids Day on June 8 at the Hudsonville Fairgrounds. 2013 SUMMER MINISTRIES AT CEDAR SUMMER MIDWEEK SMALL GROUPS Jr & Sr High Boys This study will meet on Wednesday nights in various homes, studying the parables. Daniel Himebook and Marc Scaturro will lead the discussion using Cinematic Theologys Modern Parables. Jr & Sr High Girls A Bible study is being planned for the young ladies of our church. Time and location TBA. College & Young Adults An informal discussion time will take place at the home of Chris and Corrie Post, led by Pastor Chris Post and Intern Micah Shin. After viewing selected movies, topics for discussion will be on the worldview of our culture and the Christians response to it. Midweek Bible Study Meet around a campfire at the Igo home to learn more about the doctrine of Christ, in this study led by Pastor Steve. Activities for children will be provided. Friday Night Hikes with Pastor Steve Explore a variety of parks in our beautiful West Michigan community with Pastor Steve this summer. Look for details about these hikes in the bulletin each week. Beach Days Spend Friday afternoons at Holland State Park with your friends from Cedar beginning June 7. Meet at the end of the north boardwalk at 1pm and stay as long as you like. Bring your kids, your sunscreen and enjoy a time of fellowship.
