APU REVISED ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES As a result of the strict marking deadlines required by local tutors and the submission

of first marked assignments to the University, it is essential that students adhere to the following PRESENTATION and SUBMISSION GUIDELINES. Students will be penalized for failure to meet the outlined criteria. PRESENTATION GUIDELINES All assignment front sheets must state only the following: Correct Student I.D. Module Title Word Count Your name or graphics should NOT be included in your document. Graphics should only be used as reference material. Ensure that all assignments have a table of contents and a bibliography.

HARVARD STYLE REFERENCING- must be used at all times.

All assignments must be stapled on the left side unless otherwise stated in the module guideline. Please note that only GROUP ASSIGNMENTS should be bound-

NO HARD COVERS ARE ALLOWED. Failure to meet the binding criteria will
result in your document being unbound and secured according to the above regulations.

SAM will not be liable for any damages caused during the above process.

Once an assignment has been submitted to the Office, students will not be allowed to make any changes e.g., inclusion of bibliography, table of contents, numbering of pages, etc.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES We wish to reiterate that SAM has a very limited period for the submission of assignments to the University and any delays will affect the receipt and release of official results. Students will be permitted to submit their assignments up to 3 working days after the deadline date with a penalty of 10% deduction per day. Completed assignments in accordance to the PRESENTATION GUIDELINES will only be accepted. Students will be allowed to submit their completed assignments 3 days in advance of the due date. SAM will use its discretion in the acceptance of early assignments from foreign students, or students with mitigating circumstances, e.g. Medical reasons, work related, travel, etc. Please note that all North students must submit their completed assignments to the North campus only and the same for South students. Students with outstanding balances will NOT be allowed to submit assignments.

All assignments must be brought to the APU Coordinator or other assigned personnel. Assignments left at the Receptionists Desk, Security, Library or unattended on the schools compound will NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Assignments sent via TTPost must arrive on or before the due date and time. Assignments delivered after will not be accepted. SAM WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING EMAILED ASSIGNMENTS. Assignments can be dropped off by students or by someone else. Students submitting their assignments either in advance of the deadline date must adhere to the normal Office hours. NORTH Mondays Thursdays Fridays Saturdays 8:00am 5:30pm 8:00am 2:00pm 8:00am 12:30 SOUTH 8: 00am- 5:30pm 8:00am 2:00pm 8:00am 2:30pm

Only on the submission day, will the Offices at both North & South campuses be open 1 hour after the normal closing time. Therefore, students must allow time for printing, binding as well as their journey. All work accepted after 1 second after the deadline date and time will incur the relevant penalty of (10% deduction).

NORTH CAMPUS ONLY BOOKSTORE: Printing of assignments on diskettes (not CDs) will take place only in the Bookstore at a cost of TT $1.00 per page. Students should also note that changes to their assignments before it is printed will not take place in the Office or the Bookstore. The Bookstore will close 30 minutes after normal hours on the submission day. Please note that a large number of students usually utilize the Bookstores facilities 2 hours before closing time often resulting in delays and in your inability to meet our deadline. AS STATED EARLIER, ASSIGNMENTS DROPPED OFF 1 SECOND AFTER THE OFFICE CLOSING TIME IF ACCEPTED WILL INCUR A PENALTY OF 10% DEDUCTION.
