Penta Council President Stephanie Muccini Burke called the Eighteenth Regular Meeting of the Medford City Council to order at 7:00 P.M at the Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium, Medford City Hall.

The Records of the Meeting of May 20, 2008 were passed to Councillor Dello Russo HEARINGS 08-381 CITY OF MEDFORD NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING A Public Hearing will be held by the Medford City Council in the Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, Medford, Massachusetts, on Tuesday Evening, May 27, 2008, at 7:00 P.M. on a petition from Rakesh Patel, d/b/a Spring Street Superette, for a Special Permit to extend Hours of Operation to operate its business in accordance with, Chapter 94, section 94-145 (b), Extended Hours of Operation on said site being located on 88 Spring Street, Medford, MA., in an SF-2 (Single Family-Two) Zoning District as follows: Monday through Sunday 5:00 A.M.-7:00 A.M. In accordance with the provisions of Section 94-145 (B) of Chapter 94 of the revised ordinances of the City of Medford Petition and plan may be seen in the Office of the City Clerk, Medford City Hall, Medford, MA. Alden Memorial Auditorium, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, City Hall, Medford, Massachusetts at 7:00 P.M., on TUESDAY, May 27, 2008 on a petition of Nation Grid of 170 Medford Street, Malden, MA. and Verizon of New England for permission to construct a line of underground electric conduits, including the necessary sustaining and protecting fixtures, under and across the public or ways hereinafter named. Wherefore it prays that after due notice and hearing as provided by law, it may be granted permission to excavate the public highways and to run and maintain underground electric conduits, together with such sustaining and protecting fixtures as it may find necessary for the transmission of electricity. Said underground conduits to be located substantially in accordance with the plan filed herewith marked NationalGrid and Verizon of New England Inc, Plan No. U.G. WR#3598139 Dated 11/02/07. The following are the streets and highways referred to: Sheridan Avenue-Installation of one (1) 35/2 J.O. Pole #2930-1 located 31 ft. north of Pole #2930 near Fellsway West Approved Chief Engineer w/ provision that no underground utilities are adversely impacted, contractor contact Dig Safe, obtain a permit from the engineering department, and be responsible for the restoration to City standards of disturbed areas, including replacement of affected concrete sidewalk panels and the removal of all debris and The Council approve Pole only, any underground connections would have to be part of a future grant of location.
