General Information 1. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be familiar with the rules.

Copies of the Obedience and Rally Obedience Trials Regulations & Standards may be purchased from the CKC. Only certain sections of the rules are highlighted under General Information, so they should not be considered to be complete. 2. Pinch/prong collars are not permitted on the trial site. 3. BITCHES IN SEASON - Refund of entry will be made for bitches who come into season after entries close. Request in writing must be submitted to Trial Secretary with certificate from a veterinarian on or before the day of the Trial. 4. CONTAGIOUS DISEASE - Refund of entry (less CKC fee) will be made for dogs that are under a veterinarians care for contagious disease diagnosed after entries close. Request in writing must be submitted to Trial Secretary along with a letter from a veterinarian on or before the day of the Trial. 5. CKC Obedience rules state that A judge officiating at a trial held under these rules shall not be subjected to indignities of any kind during the progress of the trial. It shall be the duty and obligation of the club holding the trial to see that this rule is effectively carried out. 6. CKC Rally Obedience rules state that It shall be the duty and obligation of the trial-giving club to see that a judge, club official, ring steward, volunteer or competitor at a Rally Obedience Trial held under these regulations is not subject to indignities of any kind. The Rally Obedience Trial Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. 7. If entering a dog in either Obedience [Novice Intermediate, Open or Utility], or Rally Obedience [Rally Advanced or Excellent Classes], PLEASE INDICATE JUMP HEIGHTS on entry forms. 8. Please refer to the current rule book for eligibility requirements for each Obedience and Rally Obedience class. It is your responsibility to ensure that your dog is entered in the correct class. 9. Exhibitors must abide by any errors made in entering their dogs, regardless of how or who made the errors. 10. The precincts of the trials will include the 2 gated rings and 5 metres outside each ring. 11. Only dogs entered in the trials will be allowed within the precincts of the trials. 12. Identification cards and Judging schedules will be distributed to exhibitors as soon as possible after entries close. 13. All dogs that are foreign born and owned who enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC events will require an Event Registration Number (ERN). An ERN must be obtained within 30 days of earning points, awards or scores to avoid cancellation. If factors beyond your control prohibit this or present a problem, please send a written request for a 30-day extension to the CKC. An ERN may be obtained by contacting the CKC. 14. The Club and the Trial Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, nor assume any liability, in the event of accident or other misfortune to dogs, exhibitors or patrons. Neither the Club nor the Trial Committee will be responsible for dogs or property at the trial site. 15. If, because of riot, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of the Club, it is impossible to open or complete the Trial, no refund of entries will be made. 16. Moving up: Adog that is registered in the records of the CKC or has a PEN, an ERN, or a MCN & has fulfilled the requirements for a title in accordance with the rules may be moved to the next level of competition. 17. When one or more trials are held on the same day in the same venue, the request for moving the dog up must be made a minimum of one hour prior to the scheduled start of the trial for which the dog is moved up to, schedule permitting.

Entries close at 5 pm on Friday, July 5, 2013 or at 420 minutes of judging per judge per day.* Day of Trial Entries may be accepted, if judging time limits permit.
*Obedience entries will be closed automatically when the limit of 420 minutes of judging has been reached (based on judging of 9 Pre-Novice, 8 Novice, 8 Novice Intermediate, 7 Open and 6 Utility entries per hour), even if the closing date for entries has not been reached. Rally Obedience limit of 420 minutes of judging per day.

ONLINE ENTRIES may be submitted through The Entry Line: https://www.entryline.com - please note that there is a fee associated with this service. The Entry Line will close off their telephone & fax lines 2 hours before the posted closing on July 5, 2013. MAILED ENTRIES - CKC official entry forms must be used. Completed entry forms are to be sent only to the Trial Secretary. Please make cheques or money orders payable to: River Valley Obedience & Field Trial Club Inc (or RVO&FTC). NSF Cheques: Section 6.6.3: Tendering of a dishonoured cheque or credit card in payment of entry fees shall be considered non-payment of entry fees, and is an offence punishable by disciplinary action and cancellation of awards. Fees are due and payable in Canadian funds. Due to fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in US funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not make cheques payable in Canadian funds or at par. They will not be cleared by the banks. To simplify the process, we urge that you purchase bank drafts or international money orders in Canadian funds. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated.

BOB LITTLE MEMORIAL TROPHY (Obedience) Will be offered to any dog trained and handled by the owner (or an immediate family member) in New Brunswick only, and only for dogs entered in Novice A or Novice B classes. The dog must be entered in and qualified in each of the obedience trials and must have the highest combined total of qualifying scores. A suitable keeper trophy will be presented to the owner. CHARLOTTE SAUNDERS MEMORIAL TROPHY (Obedience) Will be offered to the single highest scoring dog, over the obedience trials, in Open A or Open B that is trained and handled by the owner (or an immediate family member) who shall be a River Valley Obedience and Field Trial Club member. An engraved plaque will be presented to the owner. MARK A. MICHAUD MEMORIAL TROPHY (Obedience) Will be awarded to the dog and handler who entered the Utility class in all obedience trials, and who have the highest combined total of qualifying scores. An engraved plaque will be presented to the winner.

Effective January 1, 2011 - A non-member participation fee will be charged to a resident of Canada who is a non-member of the CKC. The fee will be $58.50 plus applicable taxes. The non-member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual. In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. The fee applies only to dogs wholly owned by non-member residents of Canada and is not applicable to CKC members. For more information, visit the CKC website.
