BRIEF 9 DOWUE EGBERTS COFFEE - COLLABORATION

Brief Working in collaboration with Sarah Pritchard to try and promote Dowue Egberts coffee to a predominately younger audience, and encouraging them to drink coffee at home. The brief will have a focus on branding and packaging in the form of a promotional campaign. Background / Considerations Dowue Egberts coffee is more likely to appeal to a older audience and the YCN brief has set the challenge to make the coffee more appealing to younger people (25-30 year olds) by encouraging them to drink coffee at home rather than buying it from a coffee shop. Myself and Sarah both have an interest in typography and layout which will be the key design focus within the brief but also looking at coming up with a conceptual solution to the set brief.

Mandatory Requirements Focus on print based design and considering the use of social media and networks.

The tigerprint competition will allow me to have a starting point based on a series of patterns which will then be developed.

BRIEF 4 THE STORY OF 1984

Brief Research investigation into the story behind 1984 with a focus on editorial design and publishing. Using my dissertation research and personal interest in the events of Operation Bluestar in India in 1984 and sharing the facts about what happened in a printed publication. With a focus on the type and layout design. The overall outcome of the brief would be to raise awareness about the attack and ensure that it isnt forgotten. Background / Considerations The content in the publication needs to be unbiased and focus mainly on the overview of operation bluestar, and will come mainly from my dissertation. Due to the nature of the content the design needs to reflect that, as it will ultimately be something that is raising awareness about the events of 1984.

Mandatory Requirements Research driven, needs to be unbiased and focus on the facts. Focus of the design typography and layout.

Deliverables Printed publication / prints / Awareness campaign

BRIEF 7 INTERIOR DESIGN YEARBOOK

Brief Working in collaboration with Sarah, Lisa and Beth to produce the Interior Design yearbook. The course have gone for option two, which has a focus on a low budget solution. The main outcome is a PDF with an accompanying piece of print that leads to the PDF. Background / Considerations Main considerations are that this is a budget about keeping the costs low, the accompanying print needs to be cheap and easily mass produced. Another consideration is that the course will not to be recruiting for new students next year so this broadens the concept a bit more. The print most likely needs to be something that folds down

Mandatory Requirements Research into the course, number of students, staff..

Deliverables PDF Yearbook Accompanying piece of print
