ABOUT SYMPOSIUM
We are pleased to invite you the International Energy Arbitration Symposium in Istanbul on 30 May 2013 at the InterContinental Istanbul Hotel. We are pleased to say that the Symposium is supported by the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Overview Despite the financial crisis in Europe and the rest of the World Turkey continue to grow and became one of the first destinations for foreign investors. Foreign investors are particularly looking to invest in the energy sector in Turkey. The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has outlined a series of projects to meet future demands of Turkeys energy needs. Turkey is looking to the private sector for solutions to its energy needs. Key areas of opportunity include Coal, Gas, Renewable Energy and Distribution Networks. Investors want to make sure that their investments are secure like in another European country. In the last ten years, Turkish Government made important progress to meet international standards. We, therefore, believe that the timing of the Symposium is crucial. Align with the recent developments; the Symposium is aiming to discuss the recent progress in arbitration law in Turkey and protection of foreign investment in the energy sector. About Energy Law Research Institute Energy Law Research Institute founded in 2007 in order to develop energy law in Turkey and contribute and affect the public and private sectors policies to manage the natural resources environmentally and effectively. Since the Institute was founded, it organized a number of training programs, conferences and workshops for professionals and lawyers in the energy sector to educate and train more skilled professionals. Energy Law Research Institute became a significant platform and a resource among the professionals in the energy sector by participating and contributing to the development of the energy law in Turkey. We look forward to meeting you in stanbul. Yours sincerely, Att. Sleyman BOA Chairman Energy Law Research Institute
