This year marks 99 years since the assassination and next year Sarajevo will be at the center of Europe and the world during the great cultural manifestation, Sarajevo 2014, and the 100th anniversary of the beginning of WWI will be commemorated here in June 2014. A series of cultural and sporting events will also take place, as well as other projects which aim to promote freedom, peace, coexistence and community spirit within Europe and around the world. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a concert on June 28, 2014 during the ofmcial opening of the beautiful Sarajevo Vijenica (City Hall), a building which serves as one of the most prominent world symbols of the turbulent 20th century. Ove godine e biti obiljeeno 99 godina od Sarajevskog atentata, a naredne, 2014. godine, Sarajevo e biti centar Evrope i svijeta, jer e upravo ovdje u okviru velike kulturne manifestacije Sarajevo 2014. u junu naredne godine biti obiljeeno 100 godina od poetka Prvog svjetskog rata. Tada e biti organiziran niz kulturnih i sportskih manifestacija i drugih projekata sa ciljem promocije slobode, mira, suivota i zajednitva u Evropi i svijetu. A, koncertom Beke mlharmonije, 28. juna 2014. godine, e zvanino biti otvorena i prelijepa sarajevska Vijenica, graevina koja je jedan od najznaajnijih svjetskih simbola turbulentnog 20. stoljea. apital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo is the largest city and countrys administrative, economic, cultural, university and sport center. The City of Sarajevo is comprised of four Municipalities: Stari Grad, Centar, Novo Sarajevo and Novi Grad. Situated in the area called Sarajevo Field, the town is surrounded by Olympic mountains Jahorina, Bjelanica, Igman, Treskavica and Trebevi. River Miljacka nows through the city. Bosniaks, Croats, Serbs, Jews, Roma and other ethnic groups live in Sarajevo. The religions represented are Catholicism, Christian Orthodoxy, Islam and Judaism.

Prostor na kojem se nalazi Sarajevo naseljen je jo od prahistorijskog vremena. Gradsko sredite Sarajevo postaje dolaskom Osmanlija u 15. stoljeu, a glavni grad nezavisne BiH 1992. godine. U Sarajevu su se oduvijek spajale kulture Istoka i Zapada i zahvaljujui tome je ovaj grad jedinstvena kombinacija historije, kulture i naslijea.

The area that Sarajevo occupies has been continuously inhabited since the Prehistoric period. It becomes a city with the arrivals of the Ottomans in 15th century, and a capital of independent BiH in 1992. Sarajevo has always connected East and the West thus creating a unique blend of history, culture and heritage.

Population 300,000 (2006 est.) Climate Sarajevo has a mild continental climate. Average summer temperature is 19.1 C (66 F), and winter is -1.3 C (30 F). Average yearly temperature is 9.5 C (49 F). Time Zone Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo are located in Central European Time Zone (GMT +1). Electricity The electric supply is 220V with 50Hz frequency. Water Supply It is safe to drink tap water in Sarajevo. Currency Currency in BiH is Convertible Mark. The international abbreviation for currency is BAM, while KM is used locally. (1,95 KM = 1 Euro) You can exchange your currency in any bank or post ofmce. We recommend that you do so at branch ofmces or ATMs (See map on pg.1) Banks are generally open from 08:00 to 18:00 on working days, and from 09:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays. Emerik Blum

n the summer of 1970, journalist Gilbert Burck published an article in the respected business magazine, Fortune, entitled, A socialist company that represents serious competition for capitalists, in which he wrote: The industrial company, Energoinvest, has its head ofmce in Sarajevo and it is no exaggeration to say that it is one of the most ambitious, fascinating, insightful and important conglomerates ever created in the business world. It was founded 21 years ago by the business genius, Emerik Blum. Thanks to Energovinvests development, which is still in business today, Blum is known as a philanthropist whose vision turned the natural and intellectual resources of BiH and former Yugoslavia into gold. Blum became director of Elektroprojekt in 1951 when it had only 70 employees, but over the next decade he created Energoinvest, a company with around 50,000 workers. The Financial Times called him a personimcation of socialist entrepreneurship and the mrst real socialist businessman. During a time when things were divided into blocks between East and West, Blum easily managed to do business with both the USSR and the USA and it was the top company among the so-called non-aligned countries. At that time Energoinvest was producing everything from hydroelectric plants to electrical outlets.

Prije 21 godinu osnovao ga je poduzetniki genij Emerik Blum. Zahvaljujui razvoju Energoinvesta, mrme koja i dalje postoji, Emerik Blum danas je poznat kao mlantrop koji je prirodne i intelektualne resurse BiH i bive Jugoslavije svojim vizijama pretvarao u zlato. Blum je na mjesto direktora preduzea Elektroprojekt doao 1951. godine, kada je tu radilo svega 70 ljudi, a u narednim decenijama stvorio je Energoinvest koji je zapoljavao oko 50.000 radnika. Financial Times ga je nazvao olienjem socijalistike poslovnosti i prvim pravim socijalistikim biznismenom. Blum je u vrijeme teke blokovske podjele izmeu Istoka i Zapada bez problema sklapao poslove sa SSSR-om i SAD-om, drei primat meu tzv. nesvrstanim zemljama. Energoinvest je u to vrijeme gradio sve od hidrocentrala do utinica.

Emerik Blum was born in Sarajevo on August 7, 1911 as a Bosnian Jew with Hungarian roots. During his high school days, he tended to have leftist views and loved his hometown and his country. He graduated from the Polytechnic University in Prague and when he was 20 years old he worked as a collaborator of the art group, Collegium Artisticum. When the Nazis occupied BiH in 1941 Blum was taken to the Jasenovac concentration camp, where he maintained the electric power plant, but in 1944 he escaped and joined the Partisans. After the war he worked in numerous management positions in the electricity and industrial sectors.

Energoinvest built the mrst long-range transmitter in former Yugoslavia and soon afterward, one of the greatest high voltage (550 kw) power lines was built across the three US states of Arizona, Utah and Nevada, stretching 450 km. Blum advocated the idea of large industrial plants, such as the aluminum facilities in Mostar and the alumina plant in Zvornik, the TAT plant in Ilida, as well as factories in Doboj, Odak, Teanj, Viegrad, Tuzla, Pritina and elsewhere throughout BiH and Yugoslavia. As a BiH giant, Energoinvest became a breeding ground for competent engineers who were known the world over as Mr. Energos because of their expertise and qualities. Blum ended his career by serving as Mayor of Sarajevo (1981-1983) and was a member of the organizational committee for the 14th Winter Olympic Games. Illness prevented him from realizing his idea of eliminating the complicated bureaucracy which made life difmcult for ordinary citizens. He died on June 24, 1984, and this month marks the 29th anniversary of his death. A street in Grbavica bears his name and his bust stands in front of the Energoinvest building. If memorials were built from kind words and fond memories, Emerik Blum would surely have one of the greatest monuments in the history of Sarajevo and BiH.
About author Sead Kre{evljakovi} was born in 1973 in Sarajevo. He comes from one of Sarajevo's most prominent families. His grandfather, Hamdija Kre{evljakovi}, was one of BH's most signimcant historians, and father Muhamed, also a historian, became the Sarajevo's mrst democratically elected mayor in 1991. Sead Kre{evljakovi} is an Honorary Consul of Most Serene Republic of San Marino in BiH, and with his twin brother Nihad, he is a founder of NGO Videoarchive - Library Hamdija Kre{evljakovi}, which aims toward the afmrmation of cultural heritage of Sarajevo and BiH.

Emerik Blum, bosanski Jevrej maarskog porijekla, roen je 7. augusta 1911. godine u Sarajevu, a od srednjokolskih dana bio je ljeviarski opredijeljen i zaljubljen u rodni grad i zemlju. Diplomirao je na Politehnikom fakultetu u Pragu, a kao 20-godinjak je bio i jedan od saradnika umjetnike grupe Collegium Artisticum. Nakon nacistike okupacije BiH, 1941. godine odveden je u koncentracioni logor Jasenovac, gdje je radio na odravanju elektrine centrale, a odakle je 1944. godine pobjegao i prikljuio se partizanima. Nakon rata radio je na brojnim rukovodeim pozicijama u sektoru elektroprivrede i industrije. Energoinvest je u bivoj Jugoslaviji izgradio prvi dalekovod, a nedugo nakon toga je u SAD-u izgraena jedna od najveih visokonaponskih linija od 500 kilovolti, duga 450 km, koja je prolazila kroz tri amerike drave - Arizonu, Utah i Nevadu. Blum je bio idejni zaetnik osnivanja velikih industrijskih postrojenja, poput aluminijskog kombinata u Mostaru, Tvornice glinice u Zvorniku, tvornice TAT na Ilidi, te tvornica u Doboju, Odaku, Tenju, Viegradu, Tuzli, Pritini i drugim mjestima irom BiH i Jugoslavije. Bosanski gigant Energoinvest postao je rasadnik sposobnih ininjera, u svijetu poznatih po nadimku mister Energo, koji je oznaavao njihove sposobnosti i kvalitete.
Zahvaljujui razvoju Energoinvesta, mrme koja i dalje postoji, Emerik Blum danas je poznat kao mlantrop koji je prirodne i intelektualne resurse BiH i bive Jugoslavije svojim vizijama pretvarao u zlato

Svoju karijeru Blum je zavrio na mjestu gradonaelnika Sarajeva (1981 1983.) i lana organizacionog odbora 14. zimskih olimpijskih igara u Sarajevu. Bolest ga je sprijeila da ostvari ideje o ukidanju komplikovane administracije koja je oteavala ivot obinih graana. Umro je 24. juna 1984. godine, te se ovog mjeseca navrava 29 godina od njegove smrti. Njegovo ime danas nosi ulica na Grbavici, dok je njegova bista postavljena ispred zgrade Energoinvesta. Kada bi se spomenici gradili od lijepih rijei i sjeanja, Emerik Blum bi zasigurno imao jedan od najveih spomenika u historiji Sarajeva i BiH.
O autoru Sead Kre{evljakovi} ro|en je 1973. godine u Sarajevu i poti~e iz ugledne sarajevske porodice. Njegov djed Hamdija Kre{evljakovi} bio je jedan od najzna~ajnijih bh. histori~ara, a otac Muhamed, tako|er histori~ar po profesiji, postao je 1991. godine prvi demokratski izabrani gradona~elnik Sarajeva. Sead Kre{evljakovi} je po~asni konzul Republike San Marino u BiH, a sa bratom blizancem Nihadom osnovao je i U.G. Videoarhiv - Biblioteka Hamdija Kre{evljakovi}, koje amrmira kulturno naslije|e Sarajeva i BiH.

Ashkenazi Synagogue
A{kena{ka sinagoga Ashkenazi Synagogue was built in 1902 by Karl Parik as the mrst religious object to be constructed in a then-popular pseudo-Moorish style. It is the third biggest synagogue in Europe. Akenaka sinagoga je izgraena 1902. godine, po projektu Karla Parika, kao prvi vjerski objekt u pseudomaurskom stilu. Trea je po veliini u Evropi.

Ba{~ar{ija Baarija is the heart of old Sarajevo. The building started in 1462 and reached its culmination by the middle of 16th century. In the center of it is Sebilj (from Arabic word depicting a kiosk-like public fountain) designed by the Czech architect Alexander Vitek. Baarija je srce starog Sarajeva. Izgradnja je zapoeta 1462. godine, a procvat doivljava u 16. stoljeu. U centru Baarije se nalazi Sebilj (ar. Sebilj - javna esma u obliku kioska) kojeg je dizajnirao arhitekt Aleksandar Vitek.

Cathedral of Jesus Sacred Heart

Katedrala Srca Isusova The seat of the Archbishop of Vrhbosna (Upper Bosnia), Cathedral of Jesus Sacred Heart, was built in a neo-gothic style in 1889. The tomb of Josip tadler, Archbishop of Vrhbosna from the turn of the 20th century, is located in the Cathedral. Katedrala Srca Isusova prvostolna je crkva Vrhbosanske nadbiskupije, a sagraena je u neogotikom stilu 1889. godine. Grobnica Josipa tadlera, vrhbosanskog nadbiskupa sa poetka 20. stoljea koji je inicirao izgradnju ovog objekta, nalazi se u Katedrali.

City Hall
Vije}nica
City Hall (Vijenica), a symbol of Sarajevo, is the most beautiful example of pseudo-Moorish building. Erected in 1896, it was the seat of city authorities and after World War II it became the National Library. During 1992 shelling, 90 percent of invaluable books and manuscripts were destroyed. It is currently under reconstruction. Vijenica, simbol Sarajeva, najljepi je objekt izgraen u pseudomaurskom stilu. Izgraena je 1896. i bila je sjedite gradske uprave, a nakon Drugog svjetskog rata u njoj je bila smjetena Nacionalna biblioteka. Granatirana je i spaljena 1992., kada je izgorjelo 90 posto neprocjenjivog kulturnog blaga. Trenutno se vri rekonstrukcija.

Gazi Husrev Beys Mosque

Gazi Husrev-begova d`amija Gazi Husrev Beys Mosque is the most important Islamic house of worship in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Constructed in 1531, it was left to the city by Gazi Husrev Bey, the Ottoman ruler of Bosnia. The mosque is only a part of Gazi Husrev Beys substantial bequest to the city. Gazi Husrev-begova damija je najznaajniji islamski vjerski objekt u BiH. Izgraena je 1531., a zadubina je Gazi Husrev-bega, tadanjeg osmanskog namjesnika. Damija je samo dio velike Gazi Husrev-begove ostavtine.

The Latin Bridge

Latinska }uprija
The Latin Bridge was built in 16th century but acquired world fame for the infamous Sarajevo Assassination. Precisely from this spot Gavrilo Princip shot and killed Austro-Hungarian heir to the throne - archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophia, which triggered the start of World War I. Latinska uprija je izgraena u 16. stoljeu, a postala je svjetski poznata po Sarajevskom atentatu. Tu je Gavrilo Princip usmrtio austrougarskog prijestolonasljednika Franza Ferdinanda i njegovu suprugu Somju, to je bio povod za poetak Prvog svjetskog rata.

Stara pravoslavna crkva The Old Orthodox Church was built in 16th century. Unique for its atypical architecture, this church has been safe guarding holy icons and religious relics for centuries. There are several interesting legends and folk tales related to its founding. Stara pravoslavna crkva sagraena je u 16. stoljeu. Unikatna zbog netipine arhitekture, ova crkva ve vijekovima uva veliko blago u vidu svetih moti i raznih relikvija, a postoji i nekoliko interesantnih legendi vezanih za njen nastanak.

Tunnel of Hope
Tunel spasa Built under the runway of Sarajevo Airport in 1993, the Tunnel of Hope was the citys only connection with the outside world during the four years of siege. A portion of it remains open today. (For organized tours contact tourist agencies.) Tunel spasa izgraen je ispod aerodromske piste 1993. i bio je jedina veza Sarajeva sa ostatkom svijeta za vrijeme etverogodinje opsade. Danas je dio tunela otvoren za posjete. Sarajevo is the Most Beautiful City in the World

Sarajevo je najljepi grad na svijetu
n preparing for the June edition of Sarajevo Navigator, we spoke to footballer, Edin Deko the best striker to ever play on the BiH team, as well as during this past season for Manchester City, the English vice-champion. Deko will soon be leading the BiH team during a very important World Cup Brazil qualifying match against Latvia on June 7, which will be played in Riga. Born in Sarajevo, Deko has earned the nickname, the Diamond, for his brilliant success in sports and has received the highest honor from the City of Sarajevo, the April 6th Award, so it was the perfect occasion for us to ask him to tell us his story of Sarajevo. Right at the start of the conversation, Deko shares that he has a special connection with Otoka, where he spent his childhood, even during the war. While he stresses that he loves the whole city, he insists that Baarija is, without a doubt, the most beautiful part of town. He also tells of how much he loves to walk along the citys main walking street, Ferhadija, and when asked which season best suits Sarajevo, he smiles and responds with a line from the song by the cult group, Haustor: I love girls in summer dresses.

ripremajui junsko izdanje Sarajevo Navigatora razgovarali smo sa fudbalerom Edinom Dekom, najboljim strijelcem bh. fudbalske reprezentacije u njezinoj historiji, ali i engleskog viceprvaka Manchester Citya u protekloj sezoni. Upravo e Deko predvoditi bh. reprezentativce u veoma bitnom meu protiv Latvije u okviru kvalimkacija za Svjetsko fudbalsko prvenstvo u Brazilu, a koji e 7. juna biti odigran u Rigi. Ovaj roeni Sarajlija, koji je zbog svojih fantastinih sportskih uspjeha dobio i nadimak Dijamant, dobitnik je najveeg priznanja Grada Sarajeva estoaprilske nagrade za 2013. godinu, to je bio savren povod da ga zamolimo da nam ispria svoju priu o Sarajevu. Odmah na poetku razgovora na sagovornik nam je otkrio kako je dio Sarajeva za koji je posebno vezan naselje Otoka, gdje je proveo itavo djetinjstvo, ukljuujui i rat. Istiui svoju ljubav prema gradu kao cjelini, Edin istie kako je Baarija, ipak, ubjedljivo najljepi dio naeg grada. Otkriva i kako neizmjerno voli proetati glavnom gradskom etnicom Ferhadijom, a na pitanje koje godinje doba Sarajevu najbolje pristaje, uz osmijeh odgovara stihom iz pjesme kultne grupe Haustor: Djevojke u ljetnim haljinama volim.

On summer days, Edin loves to relax with friends over coffee in some of the many garden cafs in town and he says that he feels great in all of them. Summer is also the time for his favorite cultural event, the Sarajevo Film Festival. He believes that thanks to its originality and the guests that visit our city during that period, it has become a mirror of Sarajevo and its well-known event. Edin says that the most beautiful view of Sarajevo is from the famous overlook, Zmajevac. As for culinary delights, he says that when he stays in Sarajevo he enjoys the magic of his mothers kitchen the most. He does admit that evapi are an important part of his menu during every visit, and he eats them at eljo, which is named after the Sarajevo club where his football career began. When asked why he loves Sarajevo, he says that he would need days to give all of the reasons! Edin says that visitors should follow some of the old traditions: to drink some water from Baarija so that they are sure to return and come to know the city better. In closing, we asked Edin to describe Sarajevo in one sentence, and his prompt reply was: - Sarajevo is the most beautiful city in the world.

U ljetnim danima Edin se voli opustiti uz kafu sa prijateljima u nekoj od brojnih bati u gradu, te istie kako se osjea lijepo u svakoj od njih. Ljeti se, takoer, deava i njegov omiljeni kulturni dogaaj Sarajevo Film Festival, za koji Edin kae kako je postao ogledalo Sarajeva i prepoznatljivo deavanje zahvaljujui originalnosti, ali i gostima koji u to vrijeme posjeuju na grad. Najljepi pogled na Sarajevo se, po miljenju naeg sagovornika, prua sa poznatog vidikovca Zmajevac. Kada su u pitanju gastronomski uici, Edin kae kako tokom boravaka u Sarajevu najvie uiva u arima mamine kuhinje, ali priznaje i da su evapi sastavni dio njegovog jelovnika prilikom svake posjete, te da ih jede u evabdinici eljo, nazvanoj po sarajevskom klubu gdje je i zapoeo svoju fudbalersku karijeru. Na pitanje zato voli Sarajevo, odgovara da bi razloge mogao nabrajati danima. Posjetiteljima Sarajeva Edin preporuuje da isprobaju staru tradiciju: da se napiju vode sa Baarije kako bi se ponovo vratili da jo bolje upoznaju na grad. Za kraj smo Edina zamolili da Sarajevo opie u jednoj reenici, na ta je on kao iz topa ispalio: - Sarajevo je najljepi grad na svijetu.

DOGAAJI U JUNU

ummer in Sarajevo can never be boring beautiful weather draws people out into the streets and the city is abuzz with great events. The Cactus Music Scene will continue to offer a series of concerts this month at Dom mladihs amphitheater with the following bands: Konvoj and Last Location (June 7), Jala, Buba Corelli, Chi, Nedura and onn (June 13), Edo Maajka, Frenkie and Strava kola (June 21), as well as Kablovi and Jaje na oko (June 28). Beer lovers will be in their element during the 2nd Annual Sarajevo Beer Festival, a threeday event which will be held in the open-air section of the speed skating rink at Zetra. Breweries will offer a wide selection of beers and the SBFs program will feature bands S.A.R.S and Hladno pivo (June 14), Kiril Djaikovski and Skroz (June 15), Damir Urban and Dvadesetorica (June 16), plus six BiH demo bands. The 3rd Annual Sarajevo Sevdah Fest will be held this month at the Bosnian Cultural Center with the following performers: Marija esti and DrAmmar Project (June 25), Shaderwan Code (June 26), Cristina Soler and the Pacoseco Trio (June 27), Divanhana (June 28), Amira Medunjanin feat. Reka (June 29) and Mostar Sevdah Reunion (June 30). he 2nd Annual Sarajevo Beer Festival (SBF) will be held June 14-16. This is an event that has the right recipe for fun: excellent music and great beer! Last years SBF was held at Metalac, on the playground at First Gymnasium, where its many visitors were delighted. This year the SBF is moving to a larger location at the openair section of the speed skating rink at Zetra Olympic Hall (Alipaina bb) and an even richer three-day program is planned. The Festivals daily activities will start every day at 12:00 and visitors can enjoy offerings from about 20 breweries along with mne food, games and prizes.... They will also be able to enjoy the fun park and try out in skateboarding. As part of its daily program, the SBF will feature young demo bands: Snake Eater, Futavci, Polaroid Trip, Paranoid Android, Unplugged and inila. Just like last year, this years SBF will offer an excellent music program during the evenings, and S.A.R.S., Hladno pivo, Kiril Djaikovski, Skroz, Damir Urban and Dvadesetorica will all have performances. Given all of the aforementioned attractions, we highly recommend that you visit this three-day festival of beer, music and good fun!

Sarajevu e od 14. do 16. juna biti odran 2. Sarajevo Beer Festival, dogaaj koji nudi provjeren recept za zabavu odlinu muziku uz vrhunsko pivo. Prologodinje, premijerno izdanje Sarajevo Beer Festivala, odrano u Metalcu sportskom igralitu Prve gimnazije, oduevilo je brojne posjetitelje. Ove godine SBF se seli na veu lokaciju otvoreni dio stadiona brzog klizanja Olimpijske dvorane Zetra (Alipaina bb) i za publiku sprema jo bogatiji, trodnevni program.

Dnevne aktivnosti Festivala zapoinjat e svakog dana u 12 sati, a posjetitelji e uivati u ponudi oko 20 pivara, gastronomskim delicijama, nagradnim igrama... Takoer, moi e se zabaviti u luna parku, ali i okuati na skateboard spravama. arajevo has ample opportunities for really excellent food ranging from traditional Bosnian to various sorts of international cuisine. Generally speaking, eating light is not the Sarajevo way. But, while here, it would be a shame not to try tasty local dishes, some of which can be eaten only in this city. Traditional Bosnian fast food restaurants are either cafeteria-style ainias, while pitas (phyllo dough mlled with various ingredients) are found in buregdinicas. evap~ii (spiced ground beef balls) can be eaten at evabdinicas. Although these Bosnian fast food restaurants can be found throughout the city, the majority of them are concentrated in Baarija (old Turkish quarter). The local cuisine is heavily innuenced by Turkish one, but with major differences. Typical meals served in ainias are sarajevski sahan, a meal comprised of various dolmas (vegetables stuffed with meat and rice), bosanski lonac, a thick stew-like soup made of meat and vegetables, bamija (okra dish with lamb meat) to name a few. You should make sure not to miss one of the most popular local specialties various versions of pitas (a thin phyllo dough pastry mlled with meat or vegetables such as potato, spinach or even squash). Surely one of the most popular foods in Sarajevo are the traditional evapii, rolled spiced meat balls served in portions of 5, 10 or more, and with somun (thin pita-bread unique to Sarajevo), onions, yoghurt, and ocasionally kajmak (sweet cheese spread). These are available in numerous evabdinicas around town, along with other grilled meat specialties such as pljeskavica (hamburgerlike patty served with somun and yoghurt), sudukice (small sausages served with mustard)... Typically, alcohol or coffee are not served in any of the mentioned fast food places, and almost all are non-smoking. As far as the sweets are concerned, beware that sweet is really sweet in Sarajevo. You will need several glasses of water to eat a Sarajevo baklava, ruica, kadaif, tufahija or any other cake at any of Baarijas many cake shops.

Sarajevu moete uivati u izvrsnoj hrani - poevi od ukusnih bosanskih jela, pa do raznovrsnog izbora iz meunarodne kuhinje. Openito govorei, u Sarajevu se ne jede zdravo / lagano. Preporuujemo vam i da probate jedan od najpopularnijih domaih specijaliteta razliite vrste pita punjenih mesom, povrem ili sirom. Sarajevski evapii se slue u porcijama od 5, 10 ili vie, sa somunom, lukom, jogurtom, a po vaem izboru i sa kajmakom. Moete ih probati u brojnim evabdinicama, a preporuujemo vam i ostale uskusne mesne specijalitete sa rotilja: pljeskavice (takoer se slue sa somunom i lukom), sudukice (slue se sa senfom) Obino se alkohol ne slui u spomenutim mjestima, a u skoro svim je zabranjeno i puenje. Kada je u pitanju slatko, budite svjesni da je slatko zaista slatko u Sarajevu. Trebat e vam nekoliko aa vode da pojedete sarajevsku baklavu, ruicu, kadaif, tufahiju ili bilo koji drugi kola u nekoj od brojnih slastiarni na Baariji.

Fifty years ago Ejub Mrkva, along with his wife, Paa, opened the mrst evabdinica Kod Mrkve in Baarija (Bravadiluk 13). In the beginning they just sold evapi, but later they started introducing pljeskavice, sudukice. Today Mrkva is run by Ejub and Paas grandson, Adnan, and in recent years it has expanded and grown into a chain of restaurants. Besides the evabdinica in Baarija, theyve opened shops in Grbavica (Zagrebaka bb), Dobrinja (Bulevar branilaca Dobrinje bb) and Mrkva Express in Dolac Malta (Envera ehovia 34); theyve also organized home delivery, and its possible to order online at www.mrkva.ba. Mrkva is behind the guerrilla marketing tactics that have made it an urban legend. During the ofmcial opening of the mrst McDonalds restaurant in Sarajevo (which many saw as competition which would threaten Sarajevo evapi makers), a Mrkva delivery man showed up and presented the bewildered hosts with a platter of evapi as a symbolic gesture in welcoming them to Sarajevo. Every Sarajevan knows the secret of what makes the best evapi. For me, Mrkva is just another name for evap. plavim, zamaenim radnikim odijelima i miris radnikog toplog obroka - evapa, koji su neizostavno naruivani iz evabdinice Mrkva. Prije ravno 50 godina Ejub Mrkva je sa suprugom Paom na Baariji (Bravadiluk 13) otvorio prvu evabdinicu Kod Mrkve. Isprva su prodavali samo evape, a kasnije su u ponudu uveli i pljeskavice, sudukice... Posljednjih godina je Mrkva, koju danas vodi Ejubov i Pain unuk Adnan, doivjela ekspanziju i izrasla u lanac restorana. Pored evabdinice na Baariji, otvorili su i one na Grbavici (Zagrebaka bb) i Dobrinji (Bulevar branilaca Dobrinje bb), Mrkva Express na Dolac Malti (Envera ehovia 34), organizirali kunu dostavu, mogunost online narudbi putem www.mrkva.ba... Mrkva je zasluna i za guerilla marketing, koji je postao urbanom legendom. Na proslavi otvorenja prvog McDonalds restorana u Sarajevu, za kojeg su mnogi smatrali da je konkurencija koja e ugroziti sarajevske evabdije, pojavio se dostavlja Mrkve i zbunjenim domainima kao poklon u znak dobrodolice u Sarajevo uruio oval prepun evapia. Svaki Sarajlija ima svoju tajnu najboljih evapa. Za mene je Mrkva drugo ime za evap.

Public Transport
Sarajevo is well connected with a network of trams, trolley-buses, buses and minibuses. The one-way ticket for an inner-city zone is 1.6 KM if you purchase it in a kiosk. However, if you purchase it with a driver, the one-way ticket costs 1.8 KM.

Gradski saobra}aj
Sarajevo je dobro uvezano javnim gradskim saobra}ajem. U gradu funkcioni{e mre`a tramvaja, trolejbusa, autobusa i kombija. Karte ko{taju 1,6 KM po vo`nji ukoliko se karta kupi u kiosku, dok, kada je kupujete kod voza~a, njena cijena iznosi 1,8 KM. Kartu obavezno morate poni{titi pri ulazu u vozilo jer ete u protivnom biti ka`njeni na licu mjesta. Trenutno ne postoji autobuska linija koja povezuje Aerodrom sa centrom grada. Taxi slu`be
The ticket must be punched as soon as you enter the vehicle. Failure to do so will result in a mne, on the spot. There is currently no direct bus line which connects the Airport with the city center. The public transport map is located on the inside of the front cover page of Sarajevo Navigator. Sarajevo has one of the cheapest taxi services in Europe. Several private taxi companies operate in the city 24 hours a day. For example, taking a taxi from Sarajevo Airport to the city centre will cost between 17 and 20 KM. Taxi stands are clearly marked and starting rate is 1,5 KM. All vehicles use the taxi meter.
