FSH SOCIETY & FSH MD

The sole purpose of the FSH Society, Inc.,. founded in 1991, is to help fund and promote scientific and clinical research on Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSH MD). The FSH Society is the worlds largest and most progressive grassroots network of patients, their families and research activists. FSH MD is the most prevalent form of MD affecting at least 500,000 people worldwide. There are no treatments but scientists believe they have found the master switch and are working towards blocking the genetic instructions that create toxins to destroy muscle. The research has been supported by the FSH Society, among others. The FSH Society is dedicated to finding treatments and a cure through basic translational and clinical research. We engage and support tens of thousands of patients, their families and friends worldwide. We award post-doctoral fellowships to researchers; provide education and outreach and advocate for patients with government and industry to increase funds for research and to encourage drug trials. The most important way for you to have an impact on FSH MD is to make a gift to the FSH Society. Thank you.
