Application Process
We are currently looking people with a yearning for trading and understanding of commodity and the financial markets. We expect people from all different degrees to join us, hence do not be put off by any lack of experience or expertise. We will be equipping members with the relevant skill sets for understanding the financial markets; hence a keen interest for learning is what we will be considering. However, any financial investment background knowledge would be a great bonus as well.

Goals
Seeks to maximize real return consistent with prudent investment management To provide MUTIS members a simple platform to engage the financial market in a safe yet fulfilling manner Outperform S&P500 by 5%p.a consistently

Investment Strategy
The Funds investment strategy is to allocate 55% of its portfolio into stable large commodity companies with AAA to BBBinvestment grade ratings so as to provide a low risk, low volatility core portfolio during the volatile economic period. This approach would allow the fund to hedge against the volatility in the current market, yet allow significant exposure to the commodities sector. The remaining 45 % would be split evenly into the 3 categories of Precious Metals, Agriculture and Energy futures and spot trades, allowing higher risk investments to provide higher returns for the fund.

Expectations
As this is a student run initiative, we understand different commitment levels different students can give. We are not slave workers; we are here to create the environment that will enable team members to learn the most. However, the more you give would mean the more you receive as well, as in any organisation or institution.

The diversification potential of commodities

Because commodities are real assets like oil, metal or grain, they are sensitive to different economic factors and tend to perform differently, as evidenced by their low or negative correlation (tendency to move in tandem) with stocks and bonds. Adding commodities to a balanced portfolio may enhance overall diversification. Of course, diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss.
