This presentation will introduce the audience to the use of learning management systems (LMS) in creating online classroom experiences for their students. Edmodo will be the featured LMS, with additional information concerning the use of other sites such as CourseSites and Moodle. As student use of computers, smartphones, and tablets increases, educators are finding it easier to reach their students outside of the classroom. Use of online learning opportunities is increasing, and teachers can find free tools online to enhance the quality of instruction, homework, and assignments that they provide their students. By coupling traditional classroom teaching with online learning, teachers grant access to additional interactive content to their students. Topics covered in this presentation include designing the educational space, teacher/student interaction, assessments and grading, and incorporating multimedia content. A discussion on creating multimedia using Jing, SnagIt, Camtasia, and Windows Movie Maker will be included, along with how to embed, close caption, and upload your files.
Would you be willing to present this session more than once? Yes No
