The Board of Supervisors finds and declares that it is in the public interest to officially recognize walking as an important component of our transportation system, and as a key component to creating livable and suitable communities. Therefore the Board of Supervisors established the Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee. This Advisory Committee, composed of concerned and informed residents, will provide a source of expertise on issues concerning pedestrian safety, convenience, ambiance, and planning. June 11, 2013 Subject: PSAC resolution honorably commending Sergeant Tobin upon his retirement from the San Francisco Police Department WHEREAS, the Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC) has been established to charged with providing expertise on issues concerning pedestrian safety, convenience, ambiance, and planning as well as advocating for pedestrian safety by engaging the public, Board of Supervisors and other relevant agencies, including the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD); WHEREAS, Sgt. Pat Tobin has been a regular liaison between the SFPD Traffic Company and PSAC; WHEREAS, Sgt. Tobin has had an exceptional career with the SFPD; WHEREAS, Sgt. Tobin has worked in the area of pedestrian/vehicle safety; WHEREAS, Sgt. Tobin has tackled tough questions from PSAC Members and the public with great professionalism and a positive attitude; WHEREAS, Sgt. Tobin has announced his retirement from the SFPD; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee honorably commends Sergeant Tobin on his enduring contributions to pedestrian safety in San Francisco. EFFECTIVE this 11th day of June.
