Flow Measurement Products

Unprecedented Synergy of Automation and Measurement Technologies.

Bristol Babcocks ControlWave flow computers are competitive with measurement products in their respective classes but, unlike their peers, they provide the automation capabilities that many users require. For well site automation and optimization or multiple-run meter station supervision, they provide capabilities of a controller or RTU but with the integrated, flow computer-style packaging that offers numerous advantages in costs of purchase, installation, operation and maintenance. All ControlWave flow computers share a compatible architecture and are pre-programmed to meet API 21.1 requirements for multiple meter runs. They come out of the box, ready-to-install in hazardous areas and are designed to reduce operation and maintenance costs. Through years of service, Bristol Babcock has recognized the broad variety of installation requirements to which flow computers apply. Thats why we offer three, distinct models. We havent simply scaled one platform for our convenience. Instead, we have designed each ControlWave flow computer to suit specific needs. Our flow computers are distinguished by their hazardous area approvals, packaging and expansion capabilities. Whether requirements call for explosion-proof, intrinsically safe or non-incendive designs, single meters or multiple runs, standalone or with integrated communication, a ControlWave flow computer is a perfect match.
Highly

capable, 32-bit ARM9 platform means users need not worry about resource limitations for their applications. multivariable (DP/P/T) transducer assembly is integrated in the instrument package and allows quick replacement as an independent component. low power consumption minimizes costs of solar/battery power systems. three serial ports and optional I/O expansion meet widely varying installation requirements. three models are compatible with a broad array of modem and wireless communications two of the models integrate these options in the instrument package. our ControlWave Designer, IEC 61131-3 programming environment, any user or third party can modify the standard application or create a completely customized program-and full support from Bristol Babcock is available, every step of the way. users will appreciate ControlWaves compatibility in networking and software solutions for SCADA and EFM data editing/management.

All ControlWave flow computers optionally integrate Bristol Babcocks MVT smart, multivariable transducer assembly in the instrument package. The MVT features 0.075% reference accuracy as well as excellent performance over the full range of operating pressure and temperature conditions. To benefit operation & maintenance costs, the MVT can be removed and replaced, independently of other components in the flow computer package. When external transmitters are necessary for multiple meter runs or pressure monitoring, Bristol Babcocks 3808 MVT smart, multi-variable transmitter operates seamlessly with any ControlWave flow computer. Using a two-wire, RS 485 network, the 3808 MVT provides accurate readings of DP, pressure and temperature, meets the one-second API 21.1 sampling requirement and presents a practically negligible load for the power system.

ControlWave GFC One-Box Solution with Power System and Radio.

When requirements call for an all in one box flow computer or chart replacement, complete with a power system and radio, ControlWave GFC is an excellent choice. Its even better when additional operations, such as plunger lift, pressure monitoring and a second meter run, are also required.

ControlWave XFC Compact Package for Explosion-Proof Applications.

Where explosion-proof installation practices are used, ControlWave XFC meets the requirements in a compact, transmitter-style package. ControlWave XFC is cost effective for chart replacement applications but it offers much more, including the I/O and processing capabilities for automation functions such as plunger lift. The third serial port links up with smart transmitters for an additional meter run as well as for level and pressure monitoring.

ControlWave EFM Expandable Automation System in an Integrated Platform.

ControlWave EFM is the choice for mediumsized installations, e.g. up to a four-run meter station, or when flexibility in I/O expansion is needed. The key feature of this flow computer is integration of our four-slot ControlWave Micro chassis, which includes two open slots for I/O or communication expansion.
