We are aware that we have often allowed the shadow of hate to cloud our souls, hiding the light from our unseeing eyes. We have said unpleasant and hurtful things to our brothers and sisters when they have failed to live up to our expectations. Grant that we might find that spark of love that ever burns within us, the love that you have shown to us even when we failed you. Fan the embers of that love until it roars again in the flames of love, peace, and reconciliation. Forgive us our sins and help us to forgive those who have sinned against us. Lead us into new life through your Son Jesus Christ, who died for the sins of all. Amen. Silence (a time for individual confessions) The Assurance of Pardon *The Gloria Patri The Reading from The Psalms *The Hymn Psalm 68:1-10 This Is My Fathers World #623 Mary Ann Smith, reader #58 10:00 a.m.

Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. *The Blessing and Benediction *Parting Song *Postlude Leave to Serve *Where this mark appears, all who are able please stand to honor God. (Feel free to stand or

Thought for the Week

God took the strength of a mountain, the majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun, and the calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, the comforting arm of night, The wisdom of the ages, the power of the eagles flight, The joy or morning in spring, the faith of the mustard seed, The patience of eternity, the depth of a family need, Then God combined these qualities, And when there was nothing left to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, And so, He called itDad.

Welcome to Worship
elcome to New Hope Church, now into our third century serving God! If you are visiting, you will discover a loving, spirit-filled church family. Here is some helpful information as you join us in worship today: All who worship here are equals in the sight of God, regardless of race, age, gender, physical disability or religious affiliation. Communion, when celebrated, is open to all who profess Christ as Lord and Savior, whether affiliated with this church or not. Children may partake of Communion as well, if parents approve. A nursery is available during the service; please see a greeter for directions. (This is for infants and children up to 3 years of age.) Handicap-accessible restrooms are located off the narthex (main foyer) and adjacent to the entrance lobby in the Fellowship Hall/Gym. Please complete the tear-off attendance slip attached to the bulletin and drop it in the offering plate so we will have a record of your visit with us today. Thank you for remembering to silence your cell phone during the service. We ask that there be no food or beverages in the sanctuary, please. If you arrived as a visitor we hope that you leave as a friend and worship with us often! New Hope Church exists to: Glorify God in worship and rejoice in our life together; Share the Good News of the Gospel in word and deed; Reach as many as we can with the saving love of Jesus; Help each person grow toward Christian maturity, and find their place of service in the church and in the world.

Visitors are always welcome. Come join us! New Hope Choir Led by Ben, the New Hope choir is more than just a choir. Ministries/Activities Within Our Church

A Cumberland Presbyterian Womens (CPW) Ministry is forming at New Hope. Since the denominational CPW Convention will be meeting in Murfreesboro next week (June 16 - 20, Mary Thompson would like to get a group of women together to go to the Convention on Tuesday (the 18th). We will meet at the church and go in the church van. That will serve two purposes. 1) We will get the feel of what the CPW is about and inspiration from women of other CP Churches who have a CPW and, 2) The group can share ideas about how we go about getting started with our own CPW. The convention will convene at 9:00 AM and go through the afternoon meeting. The Childrens Home luncheon will be held at noon. We can go to that, but we will need to make reservations. It will be a great day for the ladies who can go. Let Mary Thompson know your interest today. Childrens Summer Fun Program is every Tuesday morning. Pastor Brad will meet the youth and children at the church at 9:00 a.m. We will take the church van to Providence in Mt. Juliet to see a movie and eat lunch. Any child going will need to bring $1.00 for the movie and $5.00 for lunch. A list of mov-
