SOME NOTES ABOUT THIS TEXTURE LIBRARY With the proliferation of 3D architectural/visualization animations and renderings and 3D graphics in general, a complete library of alpha map tropical trees and foliage has become a requirement for many 2D and 3D artists. In response to this demand, Marlin Studios created the Tropical Trees & Foliage Alpha Maps library. This is another must-have for your graphics artist toolbox, featuring a great variety of tropical trees and foliage textures. The library is especially useful for artists depicting geographical areas where tropical plants and trees, such as palms, are a requirement. Marlin Studios goal for all our texture libraries is to create solid content you can use, which will save you plenty of money and man-hours - whether you're a graphics hobbyist or the person responsible for a large commercial production. We truly hope you enjoy using this texture library and will continue to collect Marlin Studios products. We always have additional texture and model libraries in the works, so stay tuned for upcoming releases. SO, HOW DO I USE THIS TEXTURE LIBRARY? For your convenience, we've provided an HTML browser index on both CD-Roms. In the main directory on each CD Rom, click on the Index.htm file and your default browser will display a complete list of thumbnails for the textures. Clicking on the thumbnails will display the actual textures in a reasonably viewable size.

2D PRODUCTION APPLICATIONS If you're using these textures in 2D production applications, you can effectively composite these alpha maps onto existing photographs or 3D renderings. You can even create shadows by darkening the textures, then modifying their rotations and proportions. LICENSING Read the enclosed licensing agreement carefully. These textures are royalty-free when used within a work of art (this means you can't copy them as-is and distribute them in any way). Feel free to modify them for your artwork - change the colors, sharpness, crop, etc. -- but remember, that is still a derivative work of the original and cannot be distributed as a new texture, only used within your artwork. Also, if youre using these textures in a game or similar project that will be distributed, the textures must be part of the code or at least stored with a non-recognizable file extension. Otherwise you are distributing our textures, which is a violation of our agreement. CONTACT We appreciate you as a customer and hope you enjoy your texture library. Should you ever have any questions about these textures or any aspect of texture application, please dont hesitate to contact us.
