Br. Ricky sets higher targets, from page 1 In his speech to the Lasallian community, Br. Ricky shared the many changes that the University is going through, which includes the establishment of the Science and Technology Complex and the preparations for the K-12 program. Moreover, Br. Ricky posed a challenge to the community when he identified a specific set of targets for the coming academic year. This includes PAASCU Level IV institutional and program accreditation, passing percentages in licensure exams, an increase of citation in peer-reviewed local and international publications, and more community engagement programs, among others. The full text of Br. Rickys GA message can be accessed at http://www.dlsu.edu.ph/offices/chancellor/announcements The thesis, called Investigating the Emotions of High and Average Performing Filipino Math Learners Based on Brainwaves, Electrodermal Activity, Facial Expressions, Behavior and Contextual Information, made use of technology developed at the DLSU Center of Empathic Human-Computer Interactions. It offered exhibit participants games that allowed them to move virtual objects using their brainwaves. The experience relied on Emotiv EPOC, a high resolution, multi-channel, and wireless neuroheadset used for detecting signals produced by the brain, and Affectiva Q-Sensor, a wearable, wireless biosensor that measures emotional arousal via skin conductance. Before ending his message, Br. Ricky explained the importance of measuring the things that matter in an effort to achieve the Universitys Mission of becoming a leading learner-centered, research university that bridges faith and scholarship in the service of society, especially the poor.
