Introduction In the modern scenario of Ocean Science, application of Matlab has become extremely relevant for its computational efficiency within short time and wide range of toolboxes applicability. Not only that, several numerical ocean models are being rebuilt based on Matlab scripts that are solemnly aimed to make more user friendly and to become easily accessible to greater scientific communities. These high resolutions, accurate regional ocean models are widely used for short and long-term prediction of ocean state and the climate. This is extremely vital for gaining scientific knowledge and even for shipping, offshore operations of the navy. Modeling of the ocean circulation is also essential to applications such as marine ecology, fisheries, oil spills and pollution mitigation. The idea about usage of Matlab in these fields will surely be a great help to scientific professionals and students in the field of Ocean Science.
