Instructions: Step 1: Seal the wood piece with wood sealer. Let dry. Sand lightly. Basecoat the ribbon wood piece completely (over the edges) with French Mauve. Detail Painting: *Use the 10 flat for floating color and the 1/2 mop to soften your floats as needed. Step 1: Moisten the No. 4 flat with water, blot briefly on a paper towel and load the brush in Warm White. Work the color into the brush, removing most of the color before you stroke the checkerboard over the ribbon (so that it is more transparent). Load the same brush in Antique Mauve and stroke the checks on the outside cut edge of the pin. Step 2: With a side-load of Antique Mauve, float the initial shading on the ribbon. Deepen the shaded areas with a side-load brush mix of Antique Mauve + Cranberry Wine Step 3: With a side-load of Warm White, float the highlight on the ribbon. Step 4: Load the No.1 round in Warm White and stroke the petals of the flower on. (Feel free to add more than one flower!) Side-load Cranberry Wine in the No.10 flat and float around the center, over the petals. Step 5: Use the No.1 round loaded in Yellow Ochre, tip in Warm White and tap the center of the flower. Step 6: Load the No.1 round in Light Avocado, flatten the brush on your palette and then tip one side in Plantation Pine. Blend and flatten the brush on your palette, before you stroke the leaves on - use more pressure to create the larger leaves, ease up and barely touch down for the smaller ones. Step 7: Using the stylus and Warm White, dot the bottom of the ribbon ties. Let dry. Re-shade over the dots and further deepen any shading with a side-load of Cranberry Wine. Finishing: Varnish following manufacturers instructions; add sparkle medium over the flower if desired.
