PROGRAM INFORMATION
RECREATION PROGRAM REGISTRATION
1. Program registrations are now being accepted, Monday through Friday, at the City of Salem Public Works Department, 555 Liberty Street SE Room 325, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone: 503-588-6261. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is encouraged and persons are not considered registered until fees are paid in full. Online registration is available for Jordan Kent Skills Camps at www.jordankentcamps.com, for Skyhawks Camps at www.skyhawks.com, and for U.K. International Soccer Camps at www.uksocca.com. 2. The City reserves the right to cancel programs when minimum enrollment is not met. Minimum enrollment is eight students one week before the program start date. 3. Full refunds are issued when programs are canceled. Refunds requested before the first day of program will be reimbursed half the registration fee. Refunds requested after the first day of programs will not be granted. 4. Scholarships/Fee Waivers are available: Summer Parks Program, full fee waivers Youth Sports Camps, 50-percent fee waivers UK International Soccer Camp, call 1-888-UK SOCCA (857-6222), or visit www.uksocca.com Skyhawks Camps, visit www.skyhawks.com Jordan Kent Skills Camps, visit www. jordankentcamps.com To qualify for a Summer Parks Program or Youth Sports Camps waiver, the parent/guardian must live within Salem city limits and provide proof of one of the following requirements: Oregon Trail Card Oregon Health Plan WIC Card Letter of Free or Reduced Lunch Program

These popular meets are back and provide all participants an opportunity to compete in a fun recreational atmosphere! Designed for your child to perform to the best of their ability, develop sportsmanship, foster friendship, and most importantly, have fun. Volunteers needed and gladly welcomed! We are proud to partner with Skyhawks to offer multiple camps this summer! All participants need to wear the appropriate athletic shoes, plus bring a water bottle and snack. A shirt is included in the price of the camp.
Flag Football, Volleyball, Track & Field Ages 712, $99 per participant/camp Lacrosse Ages 712, $89 per participant/camp
FLAG FOOTBALL
The perfect introduction to "America's Game." Campers learn skills on both sides of the football including the core components of passing, catching, and defense. The week finishes with the Skyhawks Sports Bowl!
Ages 56, $42 per participant/camp Ages 710, $48 per participant/camp
LACROSSE
Kick back and enjoy the beautiful summer evenings on the soccer field! Each week, participants will be led through activities emphasizing soccer in a fun, informal setting. Evenings will end with a mini game giving participants the chance to show off their skills!
Mini Soccer
Athletes will learn all the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting in a fun, non-checking environment. Participants need to supply a mouthpiece. Protective gloves, a helmet with full mask, and a lacrosse stick will be provided.
VOLLEYBALL
Ages 34 (with an adult), $38 per participant Ages 57, $42 per participant
Fundamental skills are taught through game-speed drills and daily scrimmages that focus on passing, setting, hitting, and serving. This coed program is designed for beginner and intermediate players. Campers need to supply their own knee pads.
Join us for a week that will change your child's life! Pick one sport for your child to focus onbasketball, football, or soccer. Our Skills Camp will educate and encourage your child to set goals, work towards them, and achieve them, while improving their skills on/off the field. A snack, nutrition education, contests, and life skills lesson provided daily along with a camp shirt. Ages 612, $89 per participant/camp
Skyhawks Track & Field combines technical development, fundamental techniques, and safety with a major focus on fun! Using special equipment, our staff cover the fundamentals of body positioning, stride, proper stretching, and cool-down techniques. Participants put it all together for one fun-filled day at the Skyhawks track meet!
Tennis
Let your child play outdoors in a safe, fun environment supervised and led by amazing recreation staff! Each week boasts a playful new theme and encourages participants to use their imaginations as they design a carnival, host the Olympics, think like a spy, and more! Ages 512, $38 per participant/camp
Would you start a 7 year old on a full size soccer field? Why start them on a full size tennis court? QuickStart tennis has changed the size of the courts, racquets, and balls. Now it is even easier to start playing tennis!
Develop the whole player, as an athlete and as a person, and provide them with the tools and self-belief to reach their goals on and off the field. Half Day Camps: 9 a.m.12 p.m., $99/participant Designed for players, ages 416, looking to improve their soccer skills at an introductory and intermediate level. The City of Salem, in cooperation with the Shutterbug and other sponsors, is holding FREE outdoor movies in the amphitheater at Riverfront Park! Need a free, fun, cool activity for the kids this summer? Try one of the many spray fountains in City of Salem Parks. Not only do these sites provide water activity that's fun for hours, but they have playgrounds too! The following self-operating spray fountains are open every day beginning June 14: 10 a.m.8 p.m. River Road Park and Riverfront Park 128 p.m. Englewood, Fairmount, Northgate, Wes Bennett, and West Salem parks.
