Treasuring Redemptions Price

The key to understanding the cry of Jesus from the cross is found in Pauls letter to the Galatians: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree (Gal. 3:13, NIV). To be cursed is to be removed from the presence of God, to be set outside the camp, to be cut off from His benefits. On the cross, Jesus was cursed. That is, He represented the Jewish nation of covenant breakers who were exposed to the curse and took the full measure of the curse on Himself. As the Lamb of God, the Sin Bearer, He was cut off from the presence of God. On the cross, Jesus entered into the experience of forsakenness on our behalf. God turned His back on Jesus and cut Him off from all blessing, from all keeping, from all grace, and from all peace. God is too holy to even look at iniquity. God the Father turned His back on the Son, cursing Him to the pit of hell while He hung on the cross. Here was the Sons descent into hell. Here the fury of God raged against Him. His scream was the scream of the damned. For us.

July 8th-12th @ 6:00 10:30 PM All teens in 7th-12th grade are welcome to join us for 5 nights of games, crafts, snacks, music, and messages with our friends from other churches.

Friday Night Service

July19th @ 7:30 PM Please join us as we gather together for our monthly Friday Night Service. This night will be a time of worship and a short message followed by an Ice Cream Social.

Roosevelt VBS

July 22nd-26th @ 8:30 AM All are welcome to join us as we help Dix Hills Evangelical put on a VBS for Roosevelt Bible Church. Five days of games, crafts, snacks, music, and messages with our friends from other churches. We will be meeting at Bethel and traveling together to Roosevelt Bible

Kingdom Rock VBS

August 5th-9th @ 9:15 AM Join us on an epic adventure that empowers kids to stand strong in Gods victorious power. Bible camp is for Pre-School kids (2 years old) through completed 6th grade. Volunteers are needed for all areas of service. Please contact Kristina Scragg to sign-up to help. Registration is available online at Bethellb.com or in the church office.
