Following the success of the FIRST BAYAN AT BATAS NATIONAL CUP FOR ESSAY WRITING, BAYAN AT BATAS, a regular radio program that discusses famous trials and current legal issues and answers legal queries that airs every Sunday at 7:00 - 8:00 pm at DZRB 738 KHz, is sponsoring T H E S E C O N D BAYAN AT BATAS NATIONAL C U P FOR E S S A Y WRITING. With the theme, "Paano mo babaguhm and mundo?" the essay-writing contest is an invitation for high school students to speak of their ideas, perspective and experiences about the prevailing peace and justice issues in the country or in their community.

Lawyers Marvin Aceron, Noel Punzalan, Steve Vehemente, Boyet del Prado, Reymon Fabros and Sonny Avila host BAYAN AT BATAS. Veteran broadcast journalist Ven Blones moderates. The top 3 essays shall receive the following prizes; First Prize - Php 15,000.00; Second Prize Php 12,000.00; and Third P r i z e - P h p 10,000.00. All winning entries shall be read on-air. BAYAN AT BATAS is honored to invite your school to participate in the essay-writing contest. Attached herewith are the mechanics of the contest. We hope that you can put up announcements in your school's bulletin boards and help spread the word to your students. Bayan at Batas is sponsoring a nationwide essay-writing contest with the theme, "Paano ba natin babaguhin ang mundo?" Inspiration may be derived from any of the trials discussed in the radio program. CONTEST MECHANICS: 1. The contest is open to all Filipino high school students. 2. There is no maximum number of words. 3. Entries can be written in any language, English, Filipino or any regional language. Published entries may still be submitted as long as it was published in 2012. 4. Authors can only submit one entry each. 5. Previous winners can still join 6. Entries should be encoded, double-spaced and saved in PDF format. Font should be Arial 12. 7. Criteria for judging are as follows: Content and Substance 40%; Relevance to the theme 30%; Organization 20%; Coherence and Unity 10% 8. Entries may be submitted from September 1, 2012 - November 30, 2012 by e-mail to: essay@bayanatbatas.org. Please email a scanned copy of your high school I D , as well. 9. Details showing the name of the writer, contact numbers, email and mailing addresses should be placed on a separate sheet. A l l submitted entries shall be considered property of Bayan at Batas.
