WIRELESS TESTING and SAR EVALUATIONS

Northwest EMC is your certification solution for your wireless devices. Weve been designated by the FCC as a Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB), recognized by Industry Canada as a Certification Body (CB), and validated by the European Commission as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB).

Notable Equipment: SPEAG DASY5 SAR test system, Agilent 8960 call box, and Agilent PNA network analyzer (20 GHz) with dielectric probe.

SAR
RF safety is a regulatory requirement for many wireless devices. Weve expanded our testing services to include SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) evaluations. Our SAR Testing lab is located in a semi-anechoic chamber to maintain strict temperature control and eliminate influences from other nearby transmitters. Weve selected the premier supplier of SAR evaluation systems and government-preferred vendor, SPEAG of Zurich Switzerland, to provide their latest offering the DASY5. Equipped with probes, tissue simulants, and phantoms, the DASY5 can evaluate wireless devices operating from 400 MHz 6 GHz. In addition, we use Agilent 8960 test set to support all cellular operating modes up through EVDO and HSPA Rel. 6. Our SAR testing is NVLAP accredited to ISO 17025 requirements. Specific Tests Offered: OET Bulletin 65, Edition 97-01 (Aug 1997); Supplement C, Edition 01-01 to OET Bulletin 65, Edition 97-01; IEEE Standard 1528 (2003) including Amndmt 1; EN 62369-1:2009; EN 50360 (2001); EN 62209-1 (2006); IEC 62209-01 (Feb 2005); IEC 62209-02 (2010); ANSI C95.1:2005+ A1:2010, EN 50364 (2001); EN 50371 (2002) Devices that require SAR: System integrators and medical device manufacturers with radios that are operated closer than 20cm to the head or torso. This includes devices that are small enough for a coat pocket, belt clip, or used on the lap like a notebook computer. The SAR chamber is 12 ft wide by 16 ft long x 8 ft high. A dedicated HVAC unit provides +/- 1 degree C temperature control. The SAR measurement system is located in a semi-anechoic chamber. This provides an ambient free environment that also eliminates reflections.

Northwest EMC will bridge the gap between your products and the world.
