Legalization of marijuana: to be or not to be?

The present report has been written after some research as regards the topic. The aim of it is to make people consider both advantages and disadvantages of marijuana to be able to form a reasonable opinion. To begin with, it is worth knowing some information about the plant. The term 'marijuana' (sometimes spelled 'marihuana') is Mexican in origin and typically refers to any of the three subspecies of the cannabis plant: cannabis sativa (which tends to grow tall and stalky), cannabis indica (which tends to grow smaller and bushier), or cannabis ruderalis (found primarily in Russia and Eastern Europe.) Why to be in favor of its legalization? Marijuana has been proved that it is far less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco. Around 50,000 people die each year from alcohol poisoning. Similarly, more than 400,000 deaths each year are attributed to tobacco smoking. Associations supporting this fact aim to remove all penalties for the private possession and responsible use of marijuana by adults, including cultivation for personal use. Moreover, cannabis (marijuana) allows patients to benefit from its therapeutic uses. Modern research suggests that it is a valuable aid in the treatment of a wide range of clinical applications. These include pain relief, nausea, glaucoma, and movement disorders. Marijuana is also a powerful appetite stimulant, specifically for patients suffering from HIV, the AIDS wasting syndrome, or dementia. As regards its industrial uses, various parts of the plant can be utilized in the making of textiles, paper, paints, clothing, plastics, cosmetics, foodstuffs, animal feed and other products. However, marijuana intoxication causes weakened coordination, unclear awareness, difficulty in thinking and solving a problem. Prolonged use also causes problems with learning and memory. The bad impacts of marijuana on memory and learning may last for days or weeks. The long-term effects of marijuana on the brain are the changing of brain cells that contain dopamine. The dopamine neurons control human behaviors including reward and motivation. Excessive use of marijuana causes depression, anxiety, suicidal desire and schizophrenia, sleeplessness and bad temper. The heart beat rate after abusing marijuana is increased by 20 to 80 percent and this effect can last for over 3 hours. Personally, I consider that by legalizing it, authorities are going to avoid people from smoking it just because it is forbidden. We human beings feel attracted by the prohibited, so marijuana is not going to be that striking if it is allow and we can smoke it in cafes. Of course, I strongly recommend doctors or expertise

people to study and restudy the consequences the consuming of this drug may have on peoples minds and bodies, and also I would defend my rights as a non-consumer person in the same way I do against ordinary cigarettes. As it was developed all along the essay, this plant has many useful and interesting uses but we must not abuse: all abuses are damaging.
