AIM OF THIS EVENT

The Mowanjum community, incorporating Ngarinyin, Worrorra and Wunambal language groups, recently acknowledged the centennial of their relationship with the Presbyterian and later Uniting Church. As part of this commemoration you are invited to a seminar exploring a range of key issues for Aboriginal people and their communities and our relationship with them. The day will include presentations on the Mowanjum community and its history including an opportunity to hear personally from Mowanjum Elders. We have invited key speakers on the issues which impact on Aboriginal communities in Australia, including the modified preamble for the constitution, juvenile justice, education and the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children. A photographic display of Mowanjum, its history and culture, will accompany the seminar.
