KEYNOTES:
SECOND-HALF HISTORY: For teams vying for a second-half playoff berth over the last four years in the Northern Division, having the best record against the two other teams that did not win the first half has been pivotal. In three of the four seasons, the team from that trio with the best second-half record against the other two clubs has earned the divisions playoff berth. Those playoff-bound teams have gone 49-30 (.620) against the two teams that did not make the postseason. The non-playoff teams went 70-86 (.449) against the other two clubs. The Keys open 10 games in a row against their playoff-berth competition, Wilmington and Lynchburg, tonight. OLD HAT FOR OHLMAN: For the second straight week, Keys catcher and designated hitter Michael Ohlman was named Carolina League Player of the Week. Ohlmans batting line read 407/.467/.704 over last weeks seven contests, in which he went 11-for-27 with five doubles, a three-run walk-off home run, eight RBIs, three runs scored, three walks and seven strikeouts. Ohlmans been hot since returning from the disabled list on May 23 and in June he batted .356 with 15 extra-base hits, including five home runs, and 17 RBIs. In the 35 games since he returned to the lineup, Ohlman is second in the league in batting average (.355), walks (23) and extra-base hits (10) and leads the league in triples (4), on-base percentage (.456), slugging percentage (.645) and OPS (1.102).
