Dimensioning

Supports existing standard drawing formats (AutoCAD DWG, DXF and DWF). Native PDF support for measurement from vector based PDFs. Supports electronic dimension extraction from paper drawings using scanning technology. Ability to add views and import dimension information from an Autodesk Revit drawing. Full measurement capability including area, length and count modes. Dimensions can be broken down into zones (WinQS Locations, representing functional areas/levels/units etc. or stages of construction). Fully supports scaled drawings (including separate X and Y scales) and allows calibration of scanned drawings. Ability to add measurements during session. Recommended Hardware CPU Speed

CPU speed the equivalent of Pentium IV 3.2GHz or faster (or equivalent AMD) is recommended. CPU speed the equivalent of Pentium IV 2GHz or faster (or equivalent AMD) is required.

The following conditions increase the load on the CPU:

Network and Internet

Hard Disks

Available hard disk space of 5 GB or greater is recommended. Available hard disk space of 500 MB or greater is required. The following conditions increase the disk space requirement:

Adding many drawings to the building. Adding very large drawings to the building. Adding many dimension groups to the building. Creating many dimensions. Adding many workbooks to the building. Storing many projects in the database (archiving to VXF is recommended)

RAM Capacity

RAM capacity of 2 GB or greater is recommended. Minimum RAM capacity is 512 MB. The following conditions increase the memory size requirement:

Adding many drawings to the building. (An average drawing will use 30-80 MB, and a large drawing will use 80-200 MB) Adding very large drawings to the building. Adding many dimension groups and dimensions to the building.

Adding exported Revit views and dimensions to the building (recommended at least 2GB).

A wheel mouse is also recommended to enable panning and zooming operations.

Graphics card, Screen Colours and Resolution For best results, it is recommended that the Colour Quality/Windows Colours are set to Highest (32 bit). Recommended screen resolution is 1280 x 1024. We recommend a 22 wide LCD screen driven by a dedicated video card with at least 512mB and using a DVI input cable. Software Requirements Drawing File Formats Drawing files using the .dwg, .dxf, .dwf and .pdf file formats are supported including all .dwg file format versions up to and including the AutoCAD 2010 .dwg format. NOTE: PDF files can contain both vector (eg. lines) and raster (eg. pictures) components. dimensionX can be set to measure from both raster and vector components of PDF files for measurement.
