Setting the shutter speed (Fig. 6) To odiust the shutter speed, turn ring l B by meons of the two finger grips to set the desired shutter-speed volue opposite the setting mork 17. The speed selected will olso be visible in the bottom right corner of the viewfinder.

The correct shutter speed depends on the movement of t h e s u b i e c t .T h e f q s t e r t h e s u b i e c t i s m o v i n g , t h e b r i e f e r must be the exposure time. Key 2 (A: Automotic)must be engoged ot the setting mork 17. Select the shutter speed (do not ottempt to oBu set intermediote speeds; connot be selected when the outo-control is engoged). Hold the comero up to

your eye ond point it of the subiect. lf the exposure meter pointer (to the right of the finder imoge) is within the green sector, then there is sufficient light for o picture ond you con press the releose 14. The outomoticolly-selected operture setting con be reod both in the viewfinder ond on top of the comero body (7). lf there is too much or too little light, the exposure met e r p o i n t e r w i l l l i e w i t h i n t h e r e d w o r n i n g s e c t o r s ,i n -

remedy is to use f losh (see poge 16). When the shutter is not tensioned the exposgEJnelefi( pointer will be locked. t i c u l o r o p e r t u r e s e t t i n g ,i t i s o l s o possibleto odiust the shutter-speed setting ring l8 whilst the outo-control is engoged, so os to line the exposuremeter pointer up with the desired f/number. The shutter speed ring must however engoge of one of the clickstop settings.

To toke o picture, press the releose knob 14 softly ond smoothly downwords - never ierkily. At the moment of exposure the viewfinder imoge will block out; it will reoppeor os soon os the ropid-wind lever 12 is tensioned. For shutter s p e e d s s l o w e r t h o n r l s os e c o n d t h e c o m e r o s h o u l d b e ploced on o tripod. The exposure meter is colibroted ogoinst o stondord ond will ensure the correct exposure under normol conditions. Open londscopeswith lorge oreos of sky, ond bocklit pictures in porticulor moy be incorrectly exposed when the exposure meter is used os describedobove,sincethe brighter sky tones or the sun shining directly into the meter will folsify the reoding. In such situotions the normollydetermined exposure should be modified by increosing the lens operture by one f/stop. This correction is olso n e c e s s o r yf o r p i c t u r e s o f l o w - c o n t r o s t s u b i e c t s o n c o l o r reversot fitm, e.g. exposures on cloudy doys. For this reoson o dull weqther/bocklight corrector is incorporoted in the comero. Dull weatherlBacklight corrector (Fig. 9) With the thumb on your left hond, turn ring 23 to bring the cloud symbol over the setting mork 24. Hold it i^n this position while pressingthe releose knob. The result of the correction is shown by the deflection of the pointer on the operture scoles, both in the viewfinder ond on top of the comero. Both will register one f/stop lorger operture. Then toke the picture from the desired position. When the comero is set to o monuolly-selected operture, t h e e x p o s u r e m e t e r i s d i s c o n n e c t e d( t h e p o i n t e r r e m o i n s within the red sector). This is o built-in precoution to ovoid the possibility of erroneous reodings. So long os t h e p o i n t e r i s v i s i b l e w i t h i n t h e g r e e n s e c t o r ,y o u c o n b e certoin thot the outomotic exposure control is in operotion.
