Health Checks for People with Learning Disabilities: Request for information from the Improving Health and Lives Learning Disabilities Observatory
The Improving Health and Lives Learning Disabilities Observatory is collecting information about health checks for people with Learning Disabilities. See this link to download a copy of their review.

http://www.improvinghealthandlives.org.uk/proj ects/annualhealthchecks
It is looking at lots of on-line research and making sure it has as much up-to-date information as it can find. There is a bit of a problem though when it comes to collecting recent information and research done since June 2010. So that they do not miss out on good research and information they are asking people to contact them directly with details of any research information they know about that has been carried out on the topic since June 2010. The person to contact is Janet Robertson at mailto:j.m.robertson@lancaster.ac.uk

Fulfilling Potential Action Plan

This was published by the Government on the 2nd July. It talks about how different organisations can work together with disabled people to make the big ideas in Fulfilling Potential happen - to make positive changes to improve the day-to-day lives of disabled people.

This Action Plan sets out clearly what progress has been made and what work is being supported. So that the Government can monitor how well it is doing the Action Plan covers 6 areas education; employment; income; health and wellbeing; choice and control; and inclusive communities. A lot of information is available from: http://odi.dwp.gov.uk/fulfilling-potential/index.php with important things in two easy read documents http://odi.dwp.gov.uk/docs/fulfilling-potential/making-ithappen-easy-read.pdf http://odi.dwp.gov.uk/docs/fulfilling-potential/makingit-happen-action-plan-easy-read.pdf

Here is a message from him: Hello As your new Police and Crime Commissioner one of my promises is to treat all young people as citizens, valuing your interests and opinions as much as any other group in the community. I am therefore asking young people to volunteer to work with me on a young persons advisory group.
