Codis Hats Background Codi's Hats is a 501(c) non-profit organization established in loving memory of Codi Alexander, a friend of co-founders

Wendy Cai and Kristy Choi. In the summer of 2009, Codi was accidentally hit by a car while bicycling to work. After 5 days of hospitalization, Codi passed away on August 10, 2009. She was sixteen years old. Codi continues to inspire us. Her tragic death got Kristy and Wendy thinking the five days that Codi spent in the hospital was one of the most frightening times in her friends and family's lives. But there are kids out there who spend not five days, but years and lifetimes in the hospital in pain and fear. Codi's Hats is devoted to serving those children who are everyday patients and fighters of cancer. The members of Codi's Hats offer to these children and their families a gesture of hope and admiration for their strength in the form of homemade hats. Though all hats are worn for sheer joy, many also serve as kid-friendly head coverings for patients going through chemotherapy treatment. CCAs Role Each office location will be assigned specific hospitals that have been contacted to receive painted hats. Each hospital provided a specific number of hats theyll need. CICs will plan field trips for families to paint the hats. The hats that did not get painted by families will be up to staff to paint. For every five hats painted by a staff member, it will count as one marketing event for that staff member. All hats assigned to each hospital must be painted. The extra hats are for mess-ups and these can be painted as well or held on to for future use. Hat and hospital assignments are as follows: 0.
