The Merchant Navy entrance exam is conducted for the admission of interested candidates into its navigational and engineering fields. The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is held by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), which tests the candidates comprehension in physics, chemistry and mathematics. The exam is followed by an interview. Here the candidates are assessed on their aptness for this career. Structure and pattern of the All India Merchant Navy Entrance Exam The exam covers the areas related to Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Physics, chemistry and mathematics should part of the subjects studied in 12th standard. The candidates interested in joining the navigational and engineering fields of Merchant Navy must be a graduate in Nautical Science or Marine Engineering. Candidates can also enter the Merchant Navy directly. Those who have the above said qualification can join as Deck Cadets.
