Goodwill to Hold Donation Drive July 20 Attendees can enter raffle for tickets to Beyonc concert on July 23
BOSTON (July 10, 2013) Beyonc is lending her voice to raise awareness about Goodwills mission of transforming lives through the power of work. On Saturday, July 20, Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries is holding a clothing donation drive at 1010 Harrison Avenue from 10 a.m. to noon where attendees can enter a raffle for two VIP tickets to Beyoncs concert on July 23 at TD Garden. Two tickets for the Beyonc concert will also be awarded for the most pounds of clothing donated. In April, Beyonc announced she would encourage her fans to support Goodwill by promoting donation drives. Goodwill helps people get back to work by providing education, job training and placement. I wanted to team up with an organization that puts people first and works every day to help them improve and re-establish their lives, said Beyonc. Making a donation to Goodwill supports our programs to help individuals achieve independence and dignity through work, said Joanne K. Hilferty, president and CEO of Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries. Beyoncs is making more people aware of this connection. Street teams from MIX 104.1 and AMP 103.3 will be at the donation drive, playing music and games with the crowd. You can only enter for the tickets at the July 20 donation drive. A donation is not required to enter. The cut-off time to make a donation is noon and the winners will be announced shortly after that. You do not have to be present in order to win. Goodwill staff and immediate family are not eligible to enter.
