How to apply for an F-1 visa in your country:

1. Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee at: http://www.fmjfee.com

2. Make sure to have proof of payment by:


A printed receipt if paid with a credit card online A receipt from Western Union if paid with Western Union Quick Pay option A form I-797 receipt mailed

3. Go to your local U.S. Embassy or Consulate to apply for an F-1 Visa.


You may have to schedule an interview. Go to http://www.usembassy.gov/ to find your local US consulate website to make your appointment.

You must bring the following items to your interview:


Acceptance letter from BIA Signed I-20 Form from BIA **Please sign your name in the space provided on line 11 and make sure line 10 is signed by a BIA school official Receipt of paid SEVIS I-90 fee Signed passport, valid for 6 months after date of entry in the US. Transcripts and diplomas from previous institutions Financial evidence of sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses

***If you are applying from a country not on the list on the following page, you will need to fill out the following forms which you can find online at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa application with 50mm X 50mm ( 2X 2) photo DS-157A, Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application (if older than 16 yrs. old) DS-158A, Contact information and Work History for Nonimmigrant Visa Applicant

4. Receive your visa and then:
