. PAGE REVIEW : Anne Mazer : 122 Pages :

Fantastic book that is for young readers but can be enjoyed by teens as well. This book is about a girl named Abby Hayes. Abby is in fifth grade at Lancaster Elementary. One day Abby's teacher, Ms. Kantor announced that they were doing a class play for the whole school. Abby wants a big part like Wendy or Captain Hook. But everyone else wants those parts, too. So Abby needs to stand out at the tryouts. She will memorize every characters lines. She will also learn to dance and sing. Abby just hopes she has what it takes to be a star! The day of the tryouts she is very nervous. On top of that, she is jealous of one of her friends' acting abilities and knows that if she wants to play a main character she will likely be competing against the selfproclaimed best actress in the class (the ever-bragging Brianna). When she tried out she didn't get the part. At the end something good is in store for Abby. The teacher lets her rewrite the whole play. Abby finds out her identity and learns that you don't always have to be onstage to be famous. This book is unique because it is not written like other books. It is written mostly as a journal. This book is a great book because there is so much information and it makes you want to predict what's going to happen as you read it.
