Start Menu -The Start menu is a user interface element used in Microsoft Windows operating systems since Windows 95 and in some X window managers. It provides a central launching point for application and tasks. 2. Desktop - A computer designed to fit comfortably on top of a desk, typically with themonitor sitting on top of the computer. Desktop model computers are broad and low, whereas tower model computers are narrow and tall. Because of their shape, desktop model computers are generally limited to three internalmass storage devices. Desktop models designed to be very small are sometimes referred to as slimline models. 3. Taskbar - In computing, a taskbar is a bar displayed on a full edge of a GUI desktop that is used to launch and monitor running applications. Microsoft introduced the taskbar in Windows 95 in 1995 and the feature has been a defining aspect of Microsoft Windows's graphical user interface and many other operating systems and desktop environments since. 4. My Document - On Microsoft Windows computer operating systems (except for Windows NT, simply "Documents" on Windows Vista and Windows 7), My Documents is the name of a special folder on the computer's hard drive that the system commonly uses to store a user's documents, music, pictures, downloads, and other files. 5. My Computer- A section of Microsoft Windows that was introduced with the release of Microsoft Windows 95 and included with all versions of Windows after that. My Computer allows the user to explore the contents of their computer drives as well as manage their computer files. 6. My Network place - In the Microsoft Windows operating systems, My Network Places is the network browser feature in Windows Explorer from Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, and Windows Me onwards. It superseded the Network Neighborhood feature from Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 98. 7. Recycle Bin - Recycle Bin is implemented as a special folder with columns like Date deleted and Original location. Typically only files deleted viaWindows Explorer (but not necessarily other Windows graphical interfaces such as file selection dialogs) will be put into the Recycle Bin; files deleted via the Command Prompt are permanently deleted, as (by default) are files deleted via operating system APIs and applications other than Windows Explorer.

II. A. To copy or cut files and folders 1. 2. Select the item to cut or copy: a few words, a file, a Web address, or any other item. Right-click your selection and choose Cut or Copy from the menu that appears, depending on your needs. Use Cut when you want to move something. Use Copy when you want to duplicate something, leaving the original intact. Keyboard shortcut: Hold down Ctrl and press X to cut or C to copy. 3. Right-click the items destination and choose Paste. You can right-click inside a document, folder, or nearly any other place. Keyboard shortcut: Hold down Ctrl and press V to paste. B. Renaming files and folders

To rename a file or folder perform the following steps:

1.

Select the file or folder that you want to rename.

2.

Choose Edit->Rename. Alternatively, right-click on the file or folder, then chooseRename.

The name of the file or folder is selected.

3.

Type a new name for the file or folder, then press Return

C. Deleting files and folder 1: Move items to the trash folder 2: Permanently remove items from the trash folder
