Dear Parents, ROYAL BABY BAKE OFF EVENT FRIDAY 19

TH

JULY 3.10

This Friday we are inviting all parents, grandparents and children to get baking in order to have a royal celebration for the birth of the new baby of Prince William and Princess Catherine. We would love to have as many children as th possible bringing cakes of all shapes and sizes in named tubs and tins on the Thursday 18 after school or on Friday morning. The event shall take place at the end of the school day on the junior playground. We would like as many parents, grandparents and children to join us to buy a cake or two and enjoy this event together. Tables will be set out to eat on the playground or they can be bought to take home to enjoy. There will be a raffle draw at the Bake Off event and prizes for this include: 50 cash PNE tickets for home game 2013/2014 season Sandcastle Blackpool tickets Kaos adventure centre tickets Blackpool zoo tickets Vouchers for Trafford Centre & Barton Grange Tickets will be sold on Friday if you have missed the chance already! We would also like to invite children to come dressed in red white and blue for the donation of 1 on Friday 19 July which will go towards boosting PTA funds. They have recently made some fantastic purchases such as the light and sound equipment and staging in the junior hall for forthcoming performances and have made a contribution towards the Year 6 gifts. We would also like to thank the few families that could not make the Pitch and Play event when the date changed, as the donated their 5 to the PTA. Thank you. CELEBRATION ASSEMBLY Parents of children who will receive the Super Pupil award this week will be invited to the Celebration Assembly on Thursday at 2.20. This assembly has been changed due to the organisation required for the Bakeathon on Friday after school. The Lancashire Children and Young Peoples Trust have these websites for your information www.lancashire.gov.uk and www.lancashire.gov.uk/yps HOT WEATHER Can we please remind you to send your child to school with a sun hat and sun cream if they need it. Children can keep their sun cream in their classrooms and apply it themselves before they go out for playtime/dinnertime. DINNER MONEY IN SEPTEMBER As of September 2013 we will be changing the day we complete our dinner money. This will all be completed on a Monday and we would like to ask you bring your money into the office every Monday in an envelope with your childs name and class on labelled dinner money. This will still need to be paid at least a week in advance so you dont get into a negative balance, or if you wish you can pay for each term at the start of term. Thank you for your co-operation.

SWIMMING Just a quick reminder for September to make sure your child has their correct swimming kit. Boys Trunks, towel, swimming hat Girls 1 piece costume, towel, swimming hat Hats are available from school for 1 and if you need them veruca socks for 2 each. Thank you LIBRARY Just a quick reminder to everyone that the library will no longer be lending out books until September. If you have still got a book from our library please sent this is with your child or drop it off at the office. Thank you SCHOOL UNIFORM As of 1 October 2013 the school will no longer be selling uniform. This will be passed on to Bamber Bridge Sports which is located at Bamber Bridge Football Club. This will be the schools only provider. The shop will be open from 11am 5pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday, although your demand may result in these hours being extended if necessary. You will still be able to purchase uniform from school until this handover. Jerseys bought in October will be slightly different as they will have a V-neck collar, rather than a round collar. I would like to say that this is a minor change but a really smart one. The usual polo shirts can be worn under these V-neck jerseys as normal. Irongate Ground, Brownedge Road, Bamber Bridge, PR5 6UX, 01772 321425 CLOTHING BANK We now have a clothing bank on our school site by the path towards the infant entrance. This will be emptied regularly and school will receive money back for the weight you donate. You will be able to donate many things such as adult/childrens clothing, shoes, belts, handbags and soft toys. These will be donated to third worl d countries to reuse and benefit us greatly. This is also another step towards helping our children understand the huge benefits of recycling.
