North America Chinese Congress on World Evangelization

Pastoral and Laity Ministries

May 2009

Dear Pastors and Church Leaders,

Greetings in the Lord.

In July 2006, the Chinese Congress on World Evangelization (CCOWE) met in Macau.
For the first time an English Track was held parallel to the Chinese track of 2600 delegates. It
was an encouragement for us in the English Ministry as we witnessed that the Chinese Church
leadership recognized the urgency of the needs of the next generation. Over 200 English
speaking delegates came from around the world. That meeting woke us up to the enormity of
the challenges of reaching the 2nd generation and that we can only meet the challenges by joining
hands.

NACCOWE, the North American regional counter part of CCOWE, has planned a
pastor’s and church leader’s conference and God has given them the vision for a parallel English
track. PALM, Pastoral and Laity Ministries, from the New York area, has shared this vision and
joined hands in cosponsoring this event to be held in the Pocono Mountains, at the Tuscarora Inn
and Conference Center, Bethel, PA from November 30th to December 4th. The theme is: The
Challenges and Future of English Ministries. The purpose is to dream a bigger vision of
English Ministries, to identify the challenges, to strategize and pray for impact, and to gain
strength through networking across Canada and the US. Our goal is to see the Holy Spirit raising
up a new generation of English Ministry (EM) leaders that will impact the Chinese churches in
the next twenty years.

We realize that there are many conferences and retreats to choose from. Our prayer is
that this will be a unique conference that God uses to spark a renewal and revival across the
English speaking ministries in our land. We look forward for you to join us in being part of this
new vision.

In Christ,
