GC Fuji VII

RADIOPAQUE GLASS IONOMER PROTECTION AND STABILISATION MATERIAL

Clinical Applications:
1. Surface protection and fissure protection of erupting molars 2. Protection of exposed root surfaces 3. Caries stabilization and indirect pulp capping of active lesions 4. Intermediate restoration and intermediate endodontic sealing 5. Restoration of micro-cavities 6. Hypersensitivity prevention and control 7. Lining under composite or amalgam

Product Features:
Shade Fuji 7 PINK - For many different applications where clinicians have sought a contrasting shade for clear identification of margins, for communication of clinical status or as a visual reminder of its temporary nature. Fuji 7 PINK has a pink chroma for easy identification for both clinician and patient while keeping the shade low in value helping it blend into the oral environment. Fuji 7 WHITE For clinical situations where a tooth coloured material is desired and the need for clear visual recognition is out-weighed by aesthetic demands.

Working and Setting Time The chemical reactivity of the Fuji 7 glass powder has been designed to allow both a longer working time and a fast snap set with minimal moisture sensitivity time. The standard powder to liquid ratio is 1.8 g / 1.0 g. (1 level pink scoop of powder to 1 drop of liquid). To extend working time, the powder to liquid ratio is 1.1 g / 1.0g (1 level of yellow scoop of powder to 1 drop of liquid).

Command Set Due to its pink shade Fuji VII will easily absorb light energy. So if a faster set is desired a 20-40 second application of light from either a Halogen or Plasma Arc light source will accelerate the glass ionomer setting reaction. High Level Fluoride Release The level of fluoride release from Fuji 7 is much higher than any other glass ionomer. Fuji 7 releases approximately 3 times more fluoride than Fuji I and 6 times more than Fuji IX Consistency Fuji 7 is designed with a flowable consistency for improved application to narrow regions like pits and fissures, or exposed roots on interproximal surfaces. The long curved nozzle of the Fuji Capsule helps access these difficult to reach areas. Strength Fuji 7 has sufficient mechanical strength for the recommended clinical indications while maintaining a lower powder:liquid ratio to achieve the desired flowable consistency. Adhesion A strong and more acid resistant ion exchange layer is created when Fuji VII is applied to tooth surfaces. This fused zone is a combination of glass ionomer and tooth structure and provides an effective seal and excellent protection for tooth surfaces at risk of demineralisation

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

1. Preparation of the tooth surfaces (e. g. for fissure protection or root surface protection) a) After cleaning the tooth surfaces (prophylaxis with pumice and water) in usual manner, rinse thoroughly with water.
Note: If extra retention is desired for root surface protection, application of GC CAVITY CONDITIONER (10 seconds) or GC DENTIN CONDITIONER (20 seconds) is recommended.

b) Dry by blotting with a cotton pellet or gently blowing with an air syringe
DO NOT DESICCATE. Best results are obtained when prepared surfaces appear moist (glistening).

2. Powder and Liquid Dispensing a) The standard powder to liquid ratio is 1.8 g / 1.0 g. (1 level pink scoop of powder to 1 drop of liquid). To extend working time, the powder to liquid ratio is 1.1 g / 1.0g (1 level of yellow scoop of powder to 1 drop of liquid). b) For accurate dispensing of powder, lightly tap the bottle against the hand. Do not shake or invert.

c) Make sure the liquid nozzle is clean and dry before dispensing liquid. Turn the liquid bottle horizontal and hold in this position briefly to remove air bubbles. Then invert and hold the liquid bottle vertically and squeeze gently to dispense a bubble free drop of liquid. After dispensing, wipe any residual liquid off the nozzle. d) Close bottle caps tightly immediately after use. 3. Mixing Dispense the required amounts of powder and liquid onto the pad. Using the plastic spatula, divide the powder into 2 equal parts. Spread the liquid over the pad and mix the first portion with all the liquid for 10 seconds. Incorporate the remaining portion and mix the whole amount thoroughly for 10-15 seconds (total time within 25 seconds). Working time is 1 minute 40 seconds (standard mix) or 2 minutes 10 seconds (EWT mix) from the start of mixing at 23C (73.4F). Higher temperatures will shorten working time. 4. Placement a) Take the mixed material using a suitable placement instrument or brush and apply to the tooth surface. Then use a brush to spread a thin film of GC Fuji VII directly over the root surface or hypersensitive area or over the occlusal surface and into the pits and fissures.
Note: If a faster set is desired, use a visible light curing device* for 20 40 seconds. Place light source as closely as possible to the cement surface. This function applies only to Fuji 7 Pink.

5.

Moisture Proofing

After placement, when the material starts to lose the glossy appearance (or after curing with the light curing device), apply GC Cocoa Butter or GC Fuji VARNISH (blow dry) or GC Fuji COAT LC (light cure) to the sealed area and the margins using a cotton pellet or sponge. 6. Finishing under air water spray can be started 6 minutes after start of mix or 4 minutes if light cured (standard mix). For EWT mix, finishing can be started 7 minutes after start of mix or 5 minutes if light cured. Use a superfine diamond bur or a finishing silicone point. After finishing, apply GC Cocoa Butter or GC Fuji VARNISH or GC Fuji COAT LC to the area again. Note: For fissure protection, Step 6 is not necessary
