Enhance the knowledge and skills of policy makers on the inter-relationship between trade, finance, investment and development Strengthen their policy formulation and implementation capacity and negotiation skills at the bilateral, regional and multilateral levels.
Objective
Enhance support to Geneva based missions especially in deliberations at the multilateral level; Understand and appreciate the analytical and practical work at UNCTAD that are built into the curricula of the training course.
Objective
Design course content from UNCTADs work on trade and development; empirical studies, analytical reports, technical cooperation activities Structure program to take into account regional specificities past evaluations; on-going studies, research; in-house discussions - to fine tune program
Collaborate with experts at UN Regional Commissions, Vi member universities and experiences of national experts for coherence
Deliver - lectures, case studies, problem solving, group work, exchange of experiences, simulation exercise.
Target audience
Government: Trade policy officials; Central bankers; Investment experts; Economists; Geneva based delegates invited through Geneva PMs, Ministries, UNDP country offices.
Academia: Academics in universities and research institutes who teach and research in these areas invited through Vi network.
