Caf Coffee Day is a division of India's largest coffee conglomerate, Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Ltd. (ABCTCL).

ABCTCL grows coffee in its own estates of 10,000 acres (4047 ha). The land [2] value of the plantations is US$250300 million. It is the largest producer of Arabica beans in Asia. Apart from this, the group also sources coffee from 11,000 small growers. ABCTCL is one of Indias leading coffee exporters with clients across USA, Europe and Japan.

Vertical integration
The company is known for being vertically integrated to cut costs: from owning the plantations, [2] [3] [2] the coffee, making the coffee machines to making the furniture for the outlets. The machines cost them 1.2 lakh each, which they say is half the cost of an imported coffee [3] [3] machine. The maintenance cost of CCD's machines is also less than foreign machines.

Outlets
The first CCD outlet was set up on July 11, 1996, at Brigade Road, Bangalore, Karnataka. Following this, CCD opened over 1000 cafs throughout the nation by 2011. As of May 2013, there are 1438 outlets [5] across 28 states of India. A meter on their official website (Cafecoffeeday.com) keeps c ontinuous track of the number of CCD outlets. Headquartered in Okhla, Barista currently has espresso bars across India, Sri Lanka,Bangladesh and the Middle East. It was established in February 2000 by the Barista Coffee Company Limited. A 34.3% equity stake was sold [4] to Tata Coffee in 2001. C Sivasankaran bought the remaining 65 per cent in Barista from the Amit Judge-controlled Turner Morrison in 2004, and his Sterling Group also bought out Tata Coffee's stake later. In 2007, the Sterling Group [5] [6] sold Barista to Lavazza. Barista Lavazza is currently owned by Lavazza. Associations:

LiveMedia and Barista Coffee Company have a strategic alliance, where 200 Barista Lavazza outlets [10] across the country will have LiveMedia screens on their premises. Barista Lavazza has a tie-up with Visa to allow withdrawal of cash up to 1000 daily in all its outlets without any charges levied on the cardholders or any obligation to purchase. As part of this association, Barista Lavazza also offers 30% discounts on customized meal deals on all Visa debit [11] card transactions. ABN AMRO and Barista Coffee Company have jointly launched a credit card, "ABN AMRO Barista [12] Credit Card", by which customers can avail discounts at its outlets. Barista Lavazza has formed an association with Mattel Toys (India) Private Limited for the launch of the first edition of Barista Lavazza Cafe Scrabble 2010.
