CYCLOPS-C158 Setup Manual

1. Installation and Power-Up (1) (2) First Time Set-up: Turn off all computers and plug consoles keyboard, mouse, and video cable into corresponding ports at rear panel of the console and then plug the adapter into the AC outlet. Plug one end of 3-in-1 cable to ports of selected channel at rear panel of the console and connect the other end of the cable to a PCs mouse/keyboard/video ports. Then power on the PC. Do the same to connect other PCs. It is very important to connect first MOUSE then KEYBOARD and the last VIDEO cable each time you connect your computer to the console or KVM switch During installation or operation, if there is any signal problem, press down both the front-panel <7> and <8> to reset the system. The keyboard LED will blink to make sure the action reset is in progress. Link additional Console Manager Switch: Setup console according to step (1) to (4), and connect daisy-chain HD15 cable from the current consoles EXP. OUT port to EXP. IN port of the console for the next tier, then connect its adapter to AC outlet. Repeat step number 2 to connect additional PCs. Follow step 5 to link more switches. After consoles are linked, the switch system will auto-identify and assign ID for each PC connected. Please note that only the keyboard, mouse and video cable of the first console needs to be connected to the ports at the rear panel. You may attach the optional rack mounting kit to the additional consoles for standard 19 rack. It is very important to do the connection one step at the time. Please finish connecting all computers to be connected to the console first before (see instruction (3)) before you connect the daisy chain to the next switch.

(10) Remember to do the connections in the following sequence : Connect mouse-keyboard and monitor cable of the console Plug power connect one end of the provided three in one cable to computers to be connected and the other end to the console in following order mouse-keyboard-monitor (do one computer at a time) and turn them on plug one end of the provided daisy chain cable to the port exp/out of the console and connect the other end to the port exp/in of the next console plug the adapter of that console connect all computers to be connected to that switch the same way as you connect the computers to the console then turn them on plug one end of the provided daisy chain cable to the port exp/out of the switch and connect the other end to the port exp/in of the next console plug adapter .

2. KVM Switch Operation (1) Hot-key Commands A. To switch between computers, push <Scroll Lock> key twice followed by number <1> to <8> key according to which computer to be accessed. Please use number <01> to <99> to switch between computers when the total numbers of computers connected within the tier exceed 8 computers but less than 100 computers. If the total number of computers is 100 or more, please use <100> to <999>. Ex: Press <Scroll Lock>+<Scroll Lock>+<1>+<2> to switch to PC No. 12. B. Auto Scan: Press <Scroll Lock>+<Scroll Lock>+<F4> to automatically scan power-on computers. You may change scan rate by following steps: a. With OSD: Go to the OSD screen and press <> to change scan interval from 1-255 secs. b. Without OSD model: Start with two <Scroll Lock> keystrokes followed by below keystrokes for different scan interval: Keystrokes Interval (Sec.) F1,0 2 F1,1 5 F1,2 10 F1,3 20 F1,4 30 F1,5 60 F1,6 90 F1,7 120 F1,8 150 F1,9 180

c. You may press two <Scroll Lock> + <Esc> to stop Auto Scan C. Manual Scan: Press <Scroll Lock>+<Scroll Lock>+<Space> to switch to the next power-on computer. D. During operation, if there is any signal problem, press down both the front-panel number <7> and <8> to reset the system. The keyboard LED will blink to make sure the action of reset. (2) Front Panel Push Buttons A. You may select a computer by pressing the front panel push button. If the channel connected to a power-on computer, the front panel LED will show green. B. Auto Scan: By pressing the first-tier switchs push button <1> and <2>, you can activate Auto Scan function to scan power-on computers. C. Reset: By pressing the front-panel number <7> and <8> to reset the system. The keyboard LED will blink to make sure the action of reset. (3) On-Screen-Display Operation A. You may start with two <Scroll Lock> keystrokes to activate OSD (On-Screen-Display) function. You can press < > or < > to move to preferred computer and press <Enter>. If you connected more than 15 computers, you may press <Page Up> or <Page Down> to move to previous or next page. You can press <Esc> to leave OSD menu. B. F1(EDIT): After you activate OSD function, you can use < > or < > to move to preferred computer and press <F1> to edit, you can use character A~Z, 0~9, -, , and .. You can use <F5> to clear or <Enter> to go to next computer. After editing, you can press <F1> to save change. C. F2(PSW): After you activate OSD function, you can use < > or < > to move to preferred computer and press <F2> to set password. A password protected computer, will show a & symbol. When you go to the computer next time, it will show a small window for you to enter password. If you want to cancel or change the password, please enter OSD menu and press <F2> in that computer name. D. F3(Scan Set): After you activate OSD function, you can use < > or < > to move to preferred computer and press <F3> to set the computer you want to scan. It will show a clock symbol to identify the computer E. F4(Auto-Scan): After you activate OSD function, you can press <> to set the scan rate from 1-255 seconds and press <> to save change. F. Channel Display: When you switch to different computer, it will show the channel ID and computer name on the screen and disappeared after 3 seconds. G. During operation, if the computer has power-off or added, the status will also change in your next-enter OSD menu. 3. Remarks (1) Before operating this KVM switch, please read operation menu carefully. (2) Please plug KVM switch adapter and use high quality 3-in-1 KVM cable for optimum operation.
