The best way to innovate: If you really want to be a solution giver, the type of person who can come up with great ideas, you have to first learn how to generate many ideas. The problem is most of us are brought up in a school system and society that teaches us that there always has to be a right answer. This creates a fear of being wrong, judged and criticized. So many people do not want to be vulnerable. This is why I believe that people are so scared of public speaking. I believe this problem is more common in the western world, as shown by a study in America where people were more fearful of public speaking than death. One of the best ways to come up with fresh ideas is the good old fashioned tactic of brainstorming. Our brains naturally brainstorm anyway, we can utilize this ability further by setting ourselves time to put ideas down on paper.

Most people tend to shut down ideas and hinder them from progressing, this is when we lose the whole point of a creative process. Do not believe the writers block hype, think of as many ideas as we can think of. Big, small, silly, random, embrace all types of ideas without any criticizing, judging, analysing or organizing. Focus on quantity and not quality. Once youre finished you can then take all the necessary actions you were itching to do. Tweak away. A wise person once said that the best way to come up with a good idea, is to come up with many ideas. I know Thomas Edison would say preach to that if he could.
