About this guide


This guide describes how to install the Java Initiator (JInitiator). Section 1 presents some conventions that are used within this document. Section describes how to install the JInitiator.

All window names, buttons, on-screen messages, and information that should be entered or selected are in boldface print.

Installing the JInitiator


Follow the instructions in this section to install the JInitiator.
1) Click the hyperlink to the URL where the Oracle Applications reside. 2) The Oracle Applications logo will be displayed within your Internet Explorer

browser. See Figure 1.

3) If the JInitiator is not installed on your PC, a Security Warning window will

appear, asking if you want to install it. See Figure 2.


4) Click Yes to start the installation.

5) The InstallShield Self-extracting EXE window appears, asking if you wish to

continue. See Figure 3. Click Yes to continue.

6) The InstallShield will extract the installation files. See Figure 4.

7) After the installation files have been extracted, you will see the Welcome window

for the Oracle JInitiator 1.1.7.27 Setup Program. See Figure 5. Click Next to continue the installation process.

8) When the Choose Destination Location window appears (see Figure 6), click

Next to accept the default installation location.

9) The status of the decompression process will be displayed on your screen. See

Figure 7.

10) When the JInitiator installation process is complete, the message Loading Java

Applet. . . will be displayed under the Oracle Applications logo within your browser window. See Figure 8. (Note: The first time the Applet loads is slow, please be patient. Dont close this window while using Oracle or it will shutdown.)

11) Your browser will momentarily display the message Java Applet started. 12) Next, the Oracle Applications Login window will appear. See Figure 9.

(Note: If you do not see the Oracle Application login window, please contact your local IT for help.)
13) To log in, enter your User Name and Password then click Connect.

Figure 9 Oracle Applications Login window You have finished the JInitiator installation process. The next time you log in to Oracle, go to the following URL: http://sca1cis1.kineticsgroup.com/. When the Celerity ERP Access page appears, click on the link to the appropriate instance (EMAX or E2K) to start the JInitiator and load the Oracle Applications Login window.
