Dayan Wild Goose Qigong

with Qigong Master Simon Blow Five Day Retreat Monday 20th to Friday 24th January 2014 Dorje Ling Retreat Centre, Lorinna Valley Tasmania
Qigong pronounced Chi-Gung is an integral component of the Chinese Medical health systems, the art of
Qigong consists primarily of meditation, relaxation, physical movement, mind-body integration and breathing exercises. There are thousands of different styles and systems either done standing, moving, walking, sitting or lying. Tai Chi is one popular style. For thousands of years, millions of people have benefited from Qigong practice. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, good health is a result of a free-flowing, well-balanced energy system. Ailments both physical and emotional may occur when Qi flow is blocked or impeded, causing imbalance and dysfunction in the bodys energy system. With regular practice Qigong helps to cleanse the body of toxins, restore energy, reduce stress and anxiety and help individuals maintain a healthy and active life.

Da Yan translates to great bird and is an ancient Qigong practice that was developed by Daoist Masters
about 1,800 years ago in the sacred Kunlun Mountains in the Northern Himalayan area, south west China. Its healing legacy was passed down through many generations. Simon Blow is a 29th generation of this ancient healing system and is an initiated student of Grand Master Chen Chuan Gang, the 28th linage holder. The movements represent the flight of wild geese and it helps to expel toxins from the body, cleanse the meridians, improve blood flow and draw in and circulate Qi. The first 64 Movement set deals primarily with the "post natal body" and addresses illnesses or injuries that have developed as a result of everyday life. This is not self- defence martial arts, but movement and meditation. No previous experience is required, all welcome.
